Outdoor Activities

BC Wildlife Park is a spacious zoo and rehabilitation center that houses a wide variety of animals native to British Columbia. The park is home to over 60 species, including grizzly bears, arctic wolves, black bears, bobcats, coyotes, and cougars. Many of these animals were orphaned or rescued. In addition to the diverse wildlife, the park features a gallery, educational exhibits, a Wildlife Education Center, gift shop, cafe, and outdoor playground.

Great place to see different wildlife animals with descriptions about their habitats. Highly recommended for those who love animals and want to learn more about wildlife. You should book ahead to visit this zoo!

I went here only for the wild lights and it was quite amazing to experience. Got some of my favorite pictures and could see very few animals. Beautiful train journey though. Always keep one dollar for the train. Wondered how they kept the Santa and reindeers on top of the mountain. Loved the detailing in that also to include Rudolph the RED NOSE REINDEER. Illuminated dragon was really good so was the arch and dinosaurs. Overall a great experience.

We always have a great time. Recommend getting there early, opens at 930.We absolutely love seeing the birds of prey, and the grizzlies are always putting on a show. The kids love the park and the sprinkler park. Bring a blanket and picnic and set up on the big grassy lawn!We also go every year around New Years for the Wild lights display

Hufflepunk S — Google review

Wide range of species on a large land. Expect to spend 1.5-3.0 hours in park depending on events attended and walking speed. Expect to spend some time searching for animals because they tend to hide from direct sunlight unless it’s meal time. The train that periodically travels within the park is $1 per person. We went in the late afternoon around 2PM, which means all the events have concluded for the day, so definitely recommend visiting earlier in the day.The outdoor park definitely needs more animals overall per species. You have a large land, please make use of it. A few areas we only saw 1 to 3 animal(s), wolf section was 0. Some areas were seen to be undergoing expansion, but we don’t know what’s going to be there/new.

I haven't been to something like this since I was 9 in Saskatoon at the zoo there. This was really cool and I had a lot of fun coming here for the Easter event back in April. So many cool animals and the little train was fun.The guy who carved the stone bear was really fun to talk to.

L P — Google review

Fun park to see animals of the north. The kids play area needs to be redone, but they are working on getting funding for that. If you visit in colder weather, the animals are more active and can be seen better. Overall, fun family event.

Nikki S — Google review

Great place - animals look well taken care of - lots of space for them - they have lots of areas for picnics - bathrooms and garbage collection readily available everywhere - water refill stations - for a small cost there was a train that goes around the park - staff was around but not obtrusive

The BC Wildlife Park is a fantastic destination for animal lovers and families alike. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including bears, cougars, wolves, and a variety of birds and smaller mammals. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife. The park also features interactive displays and a petting zoo for younger visitors, making it a hit with kids. There are plenty of shaded areas to relax.

Mohammad A — Google review

I absolutely adore this park! The staff always radiate happiness and extend a warm welcome to visitors. The entire facility is meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment. As for the animals, they appear genuinely content within their enclosures. The park's commitment to enrichment and providing cozy hiding spots truly stands out.One of my favorite experiences is attending the delightful bird shows . The petting zoo boasts an impressive variety of animals, making it a must-visit.But here's the real gem: the Christmas Light Up event. It's nothing short of remarkable! As a Kamloops resident, I find myself returning to this magical place at least once a month. It's simply that good!

Crystal S — Google review

It is very hot out there so prepare to sweat as it is natural! Lots of animals to see. The train ride for $1/rider is definitely worth it.

Ada Y — Google review

Checked out this park on a whim before leaving town. Really great park. It was laid out nicely - lots of information on the animals/what happened to them. We were able to see more than other zoos we have visited in the past. There is a little train that runs through the park though we didn’t have time to go on it. It was reasonably priced. Water bottle filling stations located throughout.

Candice R — Google review

Last minute decision to visit with my husband and 3 boys. So glad we did, the park wasn't busy on a Monday morning and we had time and space to walk round looking at the different animals and finding out their backgrounds and back stories. Good variety, lots of information available, water refill stations and toilets available and a lovely gift shop to finish! Highly recommend this if you're in Kamloops and have a few hours free!

Marisa T — Google review

The bears are definitely the highlight and worth all of the stars. The place is not maintained at all. The animals don’t look very well taken care of either and not a lot of effort has gone into keeping the place clean or worth spending money honestly. Totally okay missing this place and would not bring guests to visit.

Aakriti B — Google review

We try to go a few times a year to see the bears and other animals. The park is very clean and well maintained. There is tons to see and lots to do, definitely worth the moneyThe gift shop is by far my favourite part of the whole place

Dan — Google review

Nice place to visit with kids. Remember that a lot of the animals are being rehabilitated and some are recovering from injuries. Don't go when it's too hot either.. animals also get too hot and are hiding where they can find shade. Overall, recommended if you've never been!

D — Google review

Our trip was very fun and adventurous. Student got $2 off, the train ride is $1 in the park which lasts about 6 mins. Not many animals but overall the atmosphere is nice 😊

Pyae P — Google review

Providing an honest review based on expectations and reality. I was really excited to visit the BC Wildlife Park and bought tickets because the website said they had wolves at the facility. Plenty of parking, friendly and helpful staff, and clean facility/park. Great walking and lots of benches scattered around if you're in need of a break. Enjoy a small 10-minute train ride for $1 CAD and pet the sheep in their area. Got to pet a gartner snake; soft to the touch! The animals looked healthy and cared for, so that was a plus. Yes, I did enjoy my visit, but overall was a bit disappointed. Visited on a hot day in August and while the team tries to leave the outdoors as natural as possible, let's face it, the animals are captured and taken care of, without generally being released back into the wild. That said, there were no water misting for some animals, while some had ac in their den. It was heartbreaking to see one artic wolf hunker down way in the back for shade and the other wasn't visible at all, so you know it was hiding for relief from the sun. And the eagles, oh my. Very pretty birds and I am grateful to have been able to see them in close proximity, however, their enclosure was limiting. Could they fly? Potentially, I'm sure they could, but the cage had a mesh wire at the top so they could only fly at a certain height, it was really sad seeing these beautiful birds with hardly any mobility and it's in their DNA to fly up into the sky. I am aware rehabilitated animals usually cannot re-enter the wild, but goodness were the enclosures depressing. One of the bears had only an acre to roam and the staff was pleased to share that fact with us, and I'm sure it is decent, but when you're literally in "bear country" as British Columbia and Alberta advertise they are, you realize the magnitude of what was really their home given the vast nature and mountains versus their new, smaller home at the wildlife park. Besides, most areas we only saw one of the two animals on display, because of the heat, the animals were hiding in the shade. Not trying to deter anyone from visiting or donating to the cause, because they are caring for the animals which may have not had the same opportunity of survival in the wild, but I would likely not visit again and I would not recommend based on my experience (subjective, but actually experienced first-hand). And the gift shop was pricey! Yes, we did purchase a medium-sized wolf stuffed animal which was $31.99 CAD, pre-tax. It's cute and soft and it went on the rest of the adventures with us.

Lion8584 — Google review

My dog Kahlua, came to the rescue of a fledgling bird that fell out of the nest and appears to have a broken leg. A swarm of crows attacked it, and pecked it, until Kahlua barked them away, and got me. So grateful to the Fawcett Family Rehab for injured wildlife. BC Wildlife Park is a beautiful place. Non Profit, reliant on visitors to help injured animals. Home to Spirit Bear, 3 legged Bobcat, Grizzly bear cubs, and more. Animals not able to survive in the wild. Please visit, donate, enjoy a meal at the Cafe, and support this special place! Caring staff. Donations are tax deductible.

Alison M — Google review

It's a great Park, one can spend abt 2 hrs in ths park. Avoid hot sunny days an most animals are in hiding so you won't spot many.It also has a coffee shop & a train ride inside that costs just $1, for abt 10 mins ride.

Sweeton D — Google review

Beautiful park. The enclosures are beautiful and the staff is friendly and great! If you don't see the animals out, just do another lap !!The grizzlies really took the cake! There personalities really came through and we watched them for a good 20 mins!

Rebecca F — Google review

Nice afternoon experience, A lot of walking but relatively easy. Some animals refused to show themselves, can't make them, but some children might be disappointed.

Food & Drink

Nestled in the Thompson Valley, Monte Creek Winery is a sprawling 486-hectare working ranch with a focus on cool-climate grapes. The winery boasts an impressive selection of wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Visitors can enjoy tastings in the airy tasting room and savor farm-fresh fare like grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky and all-natural honey.

Consistently one of my favourite wineries to visit and only a quick 3hr drive from the Lower Mainland. Unpretentious with great views and wines. The restaurant is always a good idea, where you can enjoy wine flights or a bottle of your favourite on their patio. The Blueberry wine is a surprise with hints of basil, and the Hands Up White is a fabulous patio sipper. Don’t drive to, or through, Kamloops without a stop at this winery.

Monte Creek Winery offers a stunning setting with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The wine selection is impressive, featuring both reds and whites that showcase local terroir. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the tasting experience. The on-site restaurant complements the winery perfectly, serving delicious farm-to-table dishes that pair well with their wines. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal after a tasting. The outdoor patio is ideal for savoring both wine and food while soaking in the scenery. A must-visit for wine lovers and food enthusiasts alike!

I make sure to stop into Monte Creek every time I am in the area. I have been impressed with their growth, both in terms of their facilities and in the quality of their wines. This family-friendly winery is spacious and the stunning scenery makes it a favourite location for weddings and other events. In recent years they have put a big focus on sustainability and showing terroir in their wines. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Monte Creek offers a wide range of wines including some you have likely never tried before so you are sure to find several favourites. We left with a full mixed case.

Called in on our way past towards the end of the day. Made to feel very welcome and tasted 5 fabulous wines - really different to those we get in the UK. Bought a couple of bottles to take home and a couple of cheeky cans to drink tonight in the RV!Well worth visiting if you can, the staff are lovely and it's really interesting finding out about the different wines.

Marisa T — Google review

We tried so hard to enjoy our time here but we just couldn’t. It is a beautiful winery but the atmosphere was absolutely ruined by the attitude of one of the staff members. She demeaned other staff members in front of our group, snapped at a member of our party who was trying to clarify her order, and shooed members of our party away from the bar saying that she had “customers” to attend to.. like…What were we? I have no idea what her name was but she genuinely ruined our celebration.

Five stars ⭐️ to Monte Creek Winery 👏. I was with a group of 22 people and the manager was able to accommodate us last minute call. Everyone loved the place, the wine tasting and the food. I had a tuna 🍣 ceviche, really delicious! I recommend this place . 💯, thanks to everyone 😀👏

Impromptu stop en route to Revelstoke. Beautiful location and brilliant wine tasting for just $10! Lovely looking out at the landscape whilst tasting really great wine. Just a shame we can’t buy it in the UK!

Not only do I LOVE their wine, but I love the overall experience that Monte Creek provides. I've photographed weddings, I've enjoyed wine tastings and lunches. Monte Creek has wonderful staff and amazing wines. If you are looking for an amazing venue to host your ceremony and reception, Monte Creek is spectacular!! Their Greenhouse space is amazing for ceremonies and receptions. I love photographing weddings here and cannot wait to come back again and again!!

Amazing Winery! Staff was absolutely delightful. Generous portion for wine tasting. Moreover, one could tell different notes of wine. No wine was similar to the other.

Absolutely gorgeous spot - incredible views and really lovely wine!!!! Dallas was fantastic doing our wine tasting, giving some excellent insight and notes. We loved the Hands Up White!

Lesa L — Google review

Decent food and dessert pairing with their wines but just the cheese board could have be better granted that it was $34. Great view and friendly staff

Let's P — Google review

The tasting experience was lovely, but there was a charge of $12.00 per person. If I had not purchased any wine, I would have no problem with that. I did spend $200.00 dollars and was still charged $48.00 for the four of us. So a little disappointed. We will not return, but will buy their lovely wine.

Karen D — Google review

Make sure to reserve your table in advance if you're visiting on the weekend. The food was good but the menu is limited, not too many options to order from. I recommend the spicy pepperoni. Best thing about this place is the view of the patio. Overall, it's a good experience.

First time visiting, had a great experience. Started with a wine tasting with Elliott, was very pleased with his service and knowledge. Followed by a delicious luncheon with friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, definitely will be back and would recommend.

We were so delighted at how wonderful the wine was here. Location is beautiful and overlooking water and mountains and an amazing view of so many trains passing by. 4 wines for $12 was a great price too with a cheeseboard to match.Get the explore kamloops pass (free) for 20% off a bottle at monte creek

You must visit this winery! Lots of different wine to please everyone, the view is stunning and staff as well. Loved it!

Laurence P — Google review

We stopped here for the wine tasting. Was actually really good, I can’t remember the name of who did the tasting with us. They were from Quebec and they were lovely! Ended up buying the best tasting wine on the list 😂

Jordanrocker ツ — Google review

We had a lovely wine tasting session at Monte Creek Winery which cost only $8 per person. We get to choose 4 wines to taste out of the list. Our host Mandy was wonderful and a great conversationalist. She gave us recommendations for the wines, shared more about her life and tried to know us better. Despite the wildfire smoke obscuring the view that many come for, our experience was made pleasant due to the enjoyable wine tasting in the company of Mandy!

Me P — Google review

Fantastic experience today, six of us came to do a tasting and have lunch. Service was excellent, food and wine was delicious. Highly recommend you go and enjoy a tasting and lunch. We shared appetizers and had dessert. Everything about this experience was wonderful and we will be back!

Had such a great time! Absolutely loved it! Chris and Jessica were our guides for the Bucket List tour. Really friendly, knowledgeable guides. You can tell they have a great bond with all the dogs....who by the way are all gorgeous! So happy and friendly, you can tell they just live to run.Highly recommend this for all the family. Thanks for a great time

Amazing experience following a gorgeous snowy trail “Into the Wild” tour amongst the beautiful trees and bypassing a snow covered lake. Professional service by all of the team made this an experience to remember for our family of 5. We also met all of the dogs; very friendly and all excited for lots of pats. Highly recommend this activity for all ages.

Our dog sledding experience was so fantastic with Mountain Man Adventures! The dogs are looked after so well and treated with care, something which is very important to us, they were all so excited to be going sledding which was a great sign that they are enjoying themselves! The longer tour was so great, we saw beautiful views of the forest and the lake and stopped for photos. Our guide Riley was sensational, he was so knowledgable about the area and took so many great photos of us with the dogs, he was very professional with the sled and made us feel in safe hands the whole way round. This was a bucket list experience for us that did not disappoint!

Sophie S — Google review

My partner & I did the “Into The Wild” dog sledding tour with our guide Justin, who was very friendly & knowledgeable about the dogs and the local Sun Peaks area.We got to meet all the dogs, learnt a bit about their breed and history of sledding. The sledding tour was magical, all rugged up and running through the trees and down hills with 8 very happy dogs. The dogs are very well looked after, friendly and cant wait to get out running. After the tour, we got to even give them a treat afterwards. It was honestly one of the coolest experiences we have ever had the chance of doing.Thank you Chris, Justin and most of all, the doggies for such an amazing experience that we will never forget.

Indi N — Google review

It was an amazing experience! Beautiful views, friendly and professional staff and dogs were all super kind! Even my mother, that is usually a little bit scared of dogs, felt safe with them. Thanks to Korbin and Taryn, our guides, they really took time to make her feel comfortable with all our dogs’ team! I highly recommend this, one of a kind, experience! We can really feel the love and passion from everyone working at this company, which makes it even better!

Isabelle C — Google review

Unbelievable experience! I loved every single second. We got to interact with the dogs and even feed them treats after their run. The sled was so comfortable and our guide was wonderful. The trails are so beautiful. The lake was breathtaking. I can't say enough good things about this once in a lifetime experience.

Laura I — Google review

We had a great time! An experience for life. Great views and lovely dogs. Would definitely do it again and recommend it. Dogs have as much fun as we do and are very well taken care of. Our guide, Chris, told us every detail and all curiosities about it!

Kathleen S — Google review

The dogs were friendly and eager. The day was clear and bright. The scenery was stunning, the tree branches heavy with snow. Our guide, Chris made sure we were comfortable, safe & bundled up in the sled. He was informative and entertaining. He gave the dogs a break. We could stretch our legs, take photos and cuddle the dogs. At the end of the tour we got to give our hardworking new friends their treat of pork fat!!Fabulous memory! Highly recommended!

Debbie V — Google review

Best experience on the mountain so far for this winter season! We absolutely loved it from start to finish. Chris picked us up from the VDL and gave us loads of info about the village and surrounding area. Riley took us on our tour (the long tour) so worth it! He was super friendly and told us all about the dogs, the surroundings, tracks in the snow of different animals. The dogs are just beautiful and their names are brilliant.Thank you to all.Highly recommended!

Peter L — Google review

Had such an amazing experience. We were a bit worried the kids (6 & 8yo) would get a bit cold or bored on the 90min run but I’m so glad we did it.Cold wasn’t an issue. They put a big heavy blanket over you and then the canvas so it’s really not cold at all. My daughter didn’t even want her snow hoodie up.There was no way anyone was getting bored no matter how long it was.Highly recommend bringing sunglasses as the dogs can kick up loose snow when they break into a run.Our guides Trent and Riley were fantastic. Told us when the best spots for photos were coming up you you’re not holding your phone out for 90min straight. They’re great with the kids. Clearly loved what they did and those dogs are so well looked after. The dogs can’t wait to go for a run. They don’t let them run hard enough to get too tired, stopping and resting after every rise. We spent a good 30min at the end with the kids just playing with all the dogs.

Manual R — Google review

What a fantastic experience…absolutely loved the dogs and the whole sledding experience. Chris was so relaxed and chatty, answering all our questions. We had 3 sleds out on our run, all the guides were friendly and relaxed while being professional and well in control. Loved the whole experience of meeting the dogs, interacting with them, and helping feed them afterwards. Thank you all for making this outing so fun and educational too! Would definitely do it again with these guys.

Dog sledding at Sun Peaks BC was the highlight of my trip to Canada. Loved it so much I went back for a second sled. It’s an absolute must do.All the dogs are gorgeous and so friendly. So well cared for, behaved and loved. They just love running!Awesome team of owners, sled 🛷 drivers and all operators. It’s the best!! Thankyou for a wonderful experience.

Jenny S — Google review

This was FANTASTIC! The whole team was friendly, welcoming, and informative. The dogs were so friendly, and our guides, Trent and Eden shared all about how they train the dogs, how they line them up on the team for pulling, what the dogs' personalities are, and a bit about dog sledding history as well. It was incredible to be pulled through the wild by dogs who so clearly love to run. The whole family was grinning the whole time -- definitely a must-do experience!

Kaile S — Google review

Sometimes I don’t want to review a place because I want it to stay a hidden gem and not overrun, which is Sun Peaks area but my gosh dog sledding with Mountain Man is one of the top life experience I was fortunate to have. Kate was amazing and knowledgeable, Chris was so helpful with ideas on what to do in the area. And the dogs. If you must have a reason, go for the dogs. They love dog sledding, they are so well taken care of and well socialized. The best part of already a “best of the best” tour was the “obligatory” say hi to all the dogs. Yes the 15+ dogs in addition to your sled dogs. How can you not, when they stare at you & Jedi mind trick you to go to them and give them lots of love. Please don’t miss this step. Thanks for an amazing experience

Ranch

Historic O'Keefe Ranch is a museum that offers tours of heritage buildings and kid-friendly encounters with farm animals. The ranch was founded in 1867 and has a rich history. The exhibits are fascinating, and the staff is well-informed and invested in the stories and heritage of the site. Visitors can learn about the community's past and present through interactive displays, including a milkmaid exhibit.

Our visit to O'Keefe Ranch on August 2, 2024, was an unforgettable weekend that left me with feelings I struggle to put into words. The glamping experience was absolutely incredible—so well beyond my expectations that it felt like a dream. The combination of luxury and nature created an atmosphere of pure relaxation and comfort. One of the most memorable aspects of our stay was spending time in the farming area. As the evening settled in, the sounds of the animals created a symphony that resonated with the tranquility of the setting. It was a peacefulness that can only be found in such a well-maintained, serene environment. The attention to detail in caring for the farm was evident, and it contributed greatly to the overall sense of calm and contentment.A visit to the mansion was also included in our booking, and it was a delightful addition to our experience. The mansion was steeped in history, and I owe a special thanks to the young woman who guided us through it. Her insightful descriptions and passion for the place added depth to our understanding and appreciation of its significance.Though I didn’t dine at the on-site restaurant, I did have the pleasure of interacting with the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, answering my questions with clear and concise explanations. Their welcoming demeanor was just another example of the outstanding hospitality that made our weekend at O'Keefe Ranch truly special.

Kasun H — Google review

We visited Historic O’Keefe Ranch on a sunny Sunday, October 27, which made the picturesque views even more enjoyable. The ranch was operating on a donation basis instead of an entrance fee, with a suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child over 5. The experience offered a family-friendly glimpse into local history with authentic buildings, farm animals, and informative exhibits. It’s a fantastic spot for families, as kids can explore the grounds and interact with some animals, adding a bit of hands-on fun to the historical insight. Highly recommended for a leisurely day out with family!

What a beautiful historical ranch! We had lovely experience on Mother's day. Osa was so energetic and funny. All employees were friendly and welcoming. Place is beautiful and my family enjoyed time spent there.

The staff was all top-notch! We attended a field trip, and the expectations were clearly stated in the beginning. The young man who had the role of school teacher was a great character! The grounds were impeccable, and the tours were very informative. As a group, there was an area to leave our lunches, etc, but if we go again, we'll bring a wagon to bring our stuff around. It seemed stroller/wheelchair friendly. The washrooms were clean and conveniently located. Lots of shade to avoid the sun. The kids loved getting a treat at the candy shop. The water is not suitable for drinking, so we were glad we were advised to bring lots to stay hydrated.

Enjoy lunch in the restaurant and for a donation you can take a tour of the ranch farmhouse, buy old fashioned candy sticks at the candy shop, see vintage stoves and the various original buildings preserved in their original state. The train museum is truly a sight to see, having started in 1980 with working trains.Staff are so friendly and the new puppy is cute as a bugs ear.Glamping is available here also.

What a great place to check out with the family. Day or night the events are fabulous. Thank you O'keefe Ranch for such a fun time.

Field of Screams was amazing! The amount of effort they put into building the scenes and the output from the actors was phenomenal! They scared me good 👻 Might be a bit too much for the littles (depending on their fearlessness) but great fun for the whole family during spooky month. Snacks available on site as well 🍩 I highly recommend and will go again!

I've always wanted to visit this place, and I'm so glad I finally did! My family and I had a fantastic time exploring the museum and learning about ranch life in the 18th and 19th centuries. We spent around 2 hours there, and the whole experience was truly immersive. The staff and volunteers did a great job of bringing history to life. The kids loved seeing the animals, and the tractor ride with Miss Oso, the hilarious milk maid, was a highlight! We all had a great time and can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in history!

My kids class went for a field trip. I brought my dog to walk elsewhere but when I arrived, I thought I'd see if she could walk the grounds. They said absolutely and were so welcoming!! There was even dog water bowls everywhere. Their animals looked really well cared for and my kids enjoyed the tours.

Atmospheric location near Vernon with activities for all ages. Kids can enjoy a scavenger hunt for red cows, a candy shop, a corn maze, and meet animals. For adults, the site offers themed events and a display recreating life 150 years ago in a wealthy family’s setting. A fun, historical spot for families!

What a fantastic experience! We took the 8pm tour with the amazing Newman, what a great story teller and host, some were real and some were... Anyways lol. The tour was so fantastic, Were there ghosts, guess you will have to go and find out. We went with our service dog. We made sure he was on his best behavior and all the guests were also really accepting and nice. So we will be going backWas a great time. Happy to make the trek from the lower mainland to Kelowna for another experience at the O'Keefe RanchThank you all for the amazing experience.

What an awesome place! So fun to walk around and check everything out like an open-air museum. The staff are super friendly and the shops have a lot of cool stuff. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place to visit for young families. Fall colors are beautiful. Family corn maze, kids haunted house, sweets from the General Store and a lovely tractor ride with jokes and stories with Osa.

Went to the ranch for "Vermin in Vernon". Fun little murder mystery that had scenes which took you around parts of the ranch. Lovely setting. Looking forward to coming back for the corn maze and other events.

Our winter visit to O’Keefe Ranch with the family and grandparents was very positive. We enjoyed exploring, seeing the scenic buildings covered in snow, and imaging life in 1860’s. The staff were very friendly and the tours were well done and worth our time. The winter theme and holiday decorations were very cheerful and gave a unique feel to our visit. They even had Father Christmas to greet the kids!

The lines were very long over an hour wait. To walk through a maze that was 10min. I realize the actors are volunteers maybe have a few more people in the maze to be more engaged maybe pay them so you have more staff. The maze itself is well done,

150 graduating students descended upon the grounds for pictures and it was the most picturesque place for it. The historical buildings added to the scene creating a beautiful backdrop and wonderful experience as well.

I had such a lovely time here. Walking around, talking to everyone and looking at all the exhibits. They were all so fascinating. The people that were working in the various exhibits were so well informed and you could tell they were personally invested in the stories and in the heritage of this site. I personally want to thank the milkmaid who spent some extra time talking to me about the community, both historically and present. Thank you so much. The land has so much history. I hope all of your families stay safe.❤

This place entrance is by donation, the place was so beautiful. The kids can do some crafts with cookies/shocks and few other activities. There is a place for Christmas photos with Santa. You can witness the beautiful rail model of Okanagan, there is a candy store, a beautiful mansion. You can try some roasted nuts, drive the wagon and have all the fun you need. Best place to visit with children.

The Salmon Arm Wharf is a must-visit wooden boardwalk, boasting the title of the longest inland curved wharf in Canada. It offers stunning views of the bird sanctuary and ecological reserve. Adventure seekers can explore hiking, biking, horse riding, and even snowmobiling in winter. This historic 440-foot structure dates back to the early 1900s and provides an amazing opportunity for leisurely strolls with breathtaking lake views.

Beautiful spot, SO MANY BIRDS! I think we counted over 15 herons😮 water was low for this time of year and the wildlife was loving it. Nice short walk, cool to see the water levels from years past. I can imagine this place would get busy in certain parts of the year.

Salmon Arm Wharf is a hidden gem that offers unparalleled beauty and serenity. The adjacent Marine Park, with its lush trees and well-maintained trails, adds to the charm and tranquility of the area. Birdwatching opportunities are abundant, and the picnic area makes it a perfect spot for a day out in nature. The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking sunset views create a serene and picturesque experience that should not be missed. Highly recommend visiting for a relaxing and rejuvenating time.

A great little walk from downtown. Its clean and the flower planters along the wharf are awesome, with lots of colors. There’s a coffee shop but was closed as it was a long weekend. The park at the entrance has seating for a small picnic which is great. Lots of parking and close to restaurants and shops.

My home overlooks the foreshore, and the Salmon Arm Wharf. It is Salmon Arm's most visited attraction. People visit to see the abundant bird life and maybe get an ice cream cone.

Pretty - a nice place to dangle your feet in the water in summer. You can rent watercraft there, and there is a concession further out on the pier. Well worth the stop.

Good place to sit down and enjoy the view. Very peaceful place and looks awesome for fishing (i don't fish but i see lots of people fishing in the wharf). Water events available in the area such as boating.

Michael G — Google review

The first curved wharf I've seen and it's quite dramatic to see how much the water levels change from year to year.

Jeff G — Google review

This Canadian beauty is a bit off the highway but very well worth the detour from your trans Canadian drive through the national Park. I'm told in the summer the water is full all the way closer to the main area but even now it's a lot beautiful (fall) with green grass and flowers. Take a walk through the wood bridge towards the jettison and also the park close to the parking area. Bring friends and family or a date. Enjoy the flowers and a sandwich.

Mahmoud N — Google review

This awesome Pierre offers great views. During our visit, we were delighted to witness hundreds of mallard ducks enjoying a meal on the small patch of exposed grass nearby. It's just a 5-minute walk to reach the end, and it's absolutely worth it.

This is very beautiful place to enjoy the great views of the Shuswap Lake. One can go for the boating experiences here as the lake is huge. At some point you feel scared when you are boating in the lake but it was fun.

Babbu K — Google review

This place is free. Therefore I can't really give this a bad review based on that. Plus, I have seen some pretty cool wildlife on this walk so this is a 5 star. Seeing the Osprey catch fish out of the water was a real treat especially if you are a bird watcher or photographer. You will find turtles and fish along with an assortment of birds. Great scenery is included in this package so you may as well give it a try while you are in the area!

It is a really beautiful place to go. The water is really low this year. The picture with all the green, that is usually under water, and the boat dock is empty this year because it is just to shallow. It's the first time l have seen the water this low.

I needed antibiotic IV treatment from Friday until Tuesday over the August long weekend. The emergency department was slammed with ambulances & folks coming in needing urgent help. Sitting and watching the staff work through the full waiting rooms was really admirable. The doctors and nurses deserve all the credit in the world! They also deserve more understanding and empathy from patients in my opinion. Great job staff! You should be proud of all you do to help Salmon Arm in emergency situations! Thank you for all your help over the weekend, I truly appreciate it! Keep up the great work!

Lindsay Z — Google review

Let me start this off by saying myself and family have been here multiple times. And we've usually had great experiences. HOWEVER:I unfortunately had to have my grandma picked up by an ambulance this morning, due to Covid, Kidney problems and diabetes. She couldn't walk. 6 hours later they sent her home without warning. And when I spoke to her, she said she was not given any water, and when she had to use the restroom the nurse asked her "What do you want? Now is not a good time you will have to wait." She was not even given an IV, or anything other than blood sugar. she was Ignored, not given any concern. She is an 80 year old woman with multiple SERIOUS issues Including being positive for Covid. Do BETTER staff. I sent her to you because she was sick enough that I couldn't do anything for her. After this, I could have taken care of her 10x better and I am not even close to medically trained. This is completely unacceptable, and if I had a choice I would not bring her or myself back to this hospital, but unfortunately it is our only option. DO BETTER.

Maddy M — Google review

Prefacing to say the paramedics were awesome, however I have had a horrible experience here with everyone else. Called an ambulance due to having extreme flu symptoms and couldn’t stop vomiting. After many hours without being checked on in the hospital, I was approached by a doctor who told me it would pass and to go home. I feel like I’m dying and nobody is taking this seriously

LW — Google review

I came in unable to swallow, and grumpy. However, the nurses in Emergency were overworked, but pleasant. After a "worth the wait"endoscopy, they found I had "Schatzki's ring", which is a kind of hernia around the esophagus. The great general surgery team opened my esophagus up, and I was able to go home - sore throat - but able to swallow again.I want to thank the very patient Emergency nurses, and apologize for this somewhat grumpy old girl, who is very grateful for their overworked patience.

Pat W — Google review

I have been in emergency and/or wards numerous times as a patient or visitor, over many years and all of the staff have been excellent except two doctors. I was there recently and the place was absolutely full, crazy for staff, but all were pleasant and kind. Salmon Arm hospital has a good reputation o the region. Due to frequency of emergencies I can clearly say that I've had excellent care with the distinct exception of radiologists. In one evening, two different X rays same foot, though request was translated incorrectly, had completely different reports. How can that happen?

Karen B — Google review

The ER is a joke its a place where they wont even give you basic first aid after transferring your care to them its been currently 3 hours no one even came to see me after asking multiple times all they offered was a advil like tf i could have gone to a local medical shop and gotten atleast a splint or a elastic plaster to atleast immoblise my leg

After being at Vernon Jubilee hospital in emergency this hospital is by far a hundred steps up have been twice in emergency lately my husband with Tia and me with broken toe the staff there where top notch, we had been in Vernon for four hours in emergency because my husband all of a sudden lost his hearing the doctor there at 12:30 am looked in his ear said there is no wax so you are good to go next day my husband had a minor stroke I took him to Salmon arm they took him in right away and where amazing, I have gone to Vernon a few times nurses have been usually good but so far the doctors we have had don’t seem to check anything Salmon arm is our emergency hospital Thanks to the staff there

Debbie H — Google review

The ER staff left me in the dark while I was there. I did not feel safe, nor felt like I was taken seriously. More than 6hrs of violent vomiting, before a wonderful nurse came to my rescue.

Rob H — Google review

My autistic daughter was promised an early surgery to accommodate her severe hypoglycaemia. They booked her for 3pm and ignored our many attempts to have her put on a glucose line to keep her from passing out. Nurses are dismissive and rude, telling us to cancel the necessary surgery she has waited years to receive if we don’t want to wait to be tended to. I’m absolutely enraged they would put someone through this when Royal Inland has always taken the condition seriously and never left me or a family member in the dark like this. Shameful care at Shuswap Lake.

ABC X — Google review

What a great and professional crew that work here. Everyone from the time I walked in to seeing the doctor (Arron) was professional and very cool. Didn't mind the wait and glad I went there. Thanks you all..

Excellent all-around experience twice now (a CT scan, and then a cyst drained with ultrasound guidance).I’m sorry to say I can’t recall who did the CT scan (it was in Feb or March) but they, Crystal from ultrasound, and the radiologist (possibly Dr Gardner?) were all supremely comforting and a pleasure to deal with

Thomas — Google review

On Sunday, May 14, my husband was taken by ambulance to the Shuswap Lake Hospital, where he received excellent care. The attending physician quickly diagnosed my husband's problem and ordered a CT scan. We were very impressed by the quality of care in the emergency area.

Nurse left bloody tube and wipe in my legs. Then kept grabbing my injured hand to turn my arm while looking for a place to put in the IV.

Vonda F — Google review

Within the past 3 years alone, several of my family members, incl myself, have had to access services and be admitted to the ER and other departments at this local hospital. I can't say enough about the professionalism, patience, caring and compassion shown by all staff and medical personnel we have been in contact with. Life-threatening situations, on-going tests and end-of-life care have all been dealt with in the kindest and most competent and way one could hope for. Especially under the trying and difficult, if not extreme circumstances these people have to work under and not often truly appreciated. I am grateful for each and every one who works at this hospital and wish their service was better compensated and acknowledged by us all. The future might not be as rosy as it once was, so we should be grateful for what we have now. Thank you to all.

Log Barn was a recommended stop for us on our way to Kelowna. And we were so glad we stopped. What a brilliant, interesting place to stop by. We loved to feed the goats and wander around all of the fascinating statues and bits and bobs. The shop was also lovely with freshly baked pies and ice cream available.Definitely a must to visit when passing!

Neat place with an interesting assortment of dinosaurs, dragons and animals. The store has a bunch of souvenirs and some food items, the food truck in front looks really tasty too. Worth a stop on your way through.

Jack P — Google review

You gotta see it to believe it. There is such an eclectic mixture of animal and dinosaur statues outside that it boggles the mind. There is a petting zoo with a crazy 30 foot high goat walk. My wife and I come here for the butter tarts, Mennonite sausage and the smoked Gouda. Also the homemade salsa is delicious. There are piles of nicnac gift items. There is an ice cream stand here also. There is plenty of parking. Lots of picnic tables. There are public restrooms 🚽 available also. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back.

Staff is aloof but the place is great you can make it amazing for yourself. I would give it a five star if my interactions with staff was better I feel like if your white its better as my experience has not changed in the 5 plus years... but my white husband has a better experience with staff...I sure hope that isn't the case. They just seem like they want to hide in the corner and not speak to people. One year there was a nice man with the sausage and sauces tasting. The girl at the till was friendly this time but last year nope. The lady at the ice cream hated life. Atleast my kid begs to stop here so for now food and ambience and and decor and animals is going for you. You just have to get your staff to love their jobs and have fun.

The Log Barn 1912, we visited this place on our friend’s recommendation. There were loads of decorations, very creative and well maintained place. It was our first time visiting, and we had a lot of fun. We saw goats, llamas, bunnies, and horses, and they have a shop filled with cute stuff and souvenirs. The food was delicious, especially the pierogies.

Rach P — Google review

Wow, it felt like we found a hidden gem! On our way from Kelowna to Calgary, we stumbled upon this place, and everyone, including the kids and adults, simply loved it. The atmosphere was inviting, with rustic charm and vibrant energy that made us feel right at home. The decorations were a delight, with whimsical touches and creative displays that added character to every corner. The outdoor patio was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air, complete with comfortable seating and a scenic view. Cool statues scattered around the property added an element of surprise and fun, capturing the imagination of both young and old.One of the highlights of our visit was the interaction with the farm animals. The kids were thrilled to get up close and personal with friendly goats, chickens, and even a curious llama. It was a fantastic way to teach them about animals in a hands-on setting. The on-site store was a treasure trove of unique finds, offering a variety of items from homemade jams and artisanal cheeses to handcrafted trinkets and local artwork. However, I do wish they had a wider range of local options for gift souvenirs, as it would have been nice to bring home something distinctly representative of the area.Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect pit stop that turned into a memorable adventure. The blend of nature, creativity, and hospitality made it a standout experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone traveling through the area. We left with happy hearts and a promise to return on our next trip.

First time visiting. What a fun place. Saw goats, llamas, bunnies and browsed the Log Barn shop. Bought a bird house and bead trail bead. So much variety of different foods available too. Friendly staff!Clean bathrooms too.So many antiques to check out outside and of course the large statues were great for photos.Would definitely go again!

We really enjoy stopping in on our way back from Enderby to get a fresh pie! They are so delicious. It's also fun to wander the grounds and see the things they have on display.

Rayrell — Google review

Is this a tourist trap? Probably. Do I love it? Heck yeah!! It's a place of curiosities and statues, and even a few odd but fun food choices too, with lots of little knick-knacks and souvenirs for adults and kids alike. It's my favourite stop any time I have to make a long road trip, and I try to hit it up at least once per trip if I head through this area. Prices are a bit steep; it’s a 'tourist trap' after all. But there is a decent selection, and honestly I love getting some smoked gouda to go along with the beef jerky I always get on my trips. Or maybe some guava soda! It reminds me a lot of a place on Vancouver Island called Coombs, actually. And that is a compliment. If you're in the area and want to stretch your legs I'd highly recommend it! Walk along to see some statues, feed some goats, and grab some snacks. It's a cute little stop!

Tyrant C — Google review

Super cool little shop. The goat bridge is hilarious and the antique feel.of the rest of the shop is great. Huge selection of treats from giant novelty lollipops to menanite sausages, soft serve ice cream, various syrups, fudge, and on and on. A must see if you're in the area.

Sean P — Google review

You must stop here if you are young or old. The goat bridge alone is worth the stop, watching the goat work the pulleys to pull up his food is awesome. There are tons of photo ops and the kids will be in heaven. They also have a great little store with gifts, food, and everything a traveler or souvenir shopper is looking for. We had so much fun here and got all kinds of great pictures.

Mike D — Google review

The Log Barn is always a favorite stop on road trip adventures. Lots to see, lots to eat, fun times. Just be careful crossing the road!!

Teri H — Google review

A definite MUST STOP on your drive from Revelstoke to Kelowna (and vice versa). The Log Barn 1912 felt like a tourist attraction in itself. There were loads of decorations just leading up to it. We could have spent hours at that shop. They made some of the dips etc in-house and we could not resist getting many produce from them. There is also food that you can buy to feed the animals. We loved this stop.

Sharon T — Google review

Always a favorite stop on road trips. Great gift shop and produce/fruit/local market stop. Delicious fresh BC fruit at good prices.Love the goats and being able to feed them. Shout out to the two alpacas in with the goats. And that adorable lone sheep who loves the snacks you can buy and feed them. There's an eleborate bridge/ramp jungle gym for the littler goats. You can use the corn bubble gum machine at the bottom and place it in a little cup, a goat uses its mouth on a wheel on the ramp above to activate a pulley and bring the corn treats to them. Super fun to watch.Lots of fun statues and photo ops.

Jessica G — Google review

Very interesting place to visit with the whole family. The kids would love it as well as adults. The goat coming to take food is such a cute and interesting thing to watch. 25 cent coins are required to buy food for the goat...keep at least 5-6 25 cent coins because with one coin the food quantity will be very less. All will love this experience. The log barn market is huge with lot of organic stuff. It's worth a visit. We didn't know of this place and stopped by chance on our way and were so pleasantly surprised to visit it.

Shilpa — Google review

I’ve been to the Log Barn many times over the past several years. Every time I go there are new products and unique items. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and knowledgeable about the products in the store. The aroma of the fresh baked pies first drew me into the store years ago. It is always very clean and organized. I will keep coming back and continue to recommend it to family and friends. I give it a 10/10 review,

Alexandra S — Google review

Great place for kids or for your kids with horns (goat joke). Love the interactive parts of the log barn and feeding the goats. Customer service was good and the goats and other animals were happy and seems comfortable. Some beautiful chickens by the washrooms, easy to miss so definitely check them out while you're there!

We had no intention of stopping here at all. It just happened to be there as we were leaving Armstrong, and I'm so glad it was. What a unique and fun business to run/enjoy. My entire family loved everything about it, from the gift shop, baby goats, chickens, horses, turle pond, and all the different sculptures, right down to the food truck on site, which was absolutely delicious, by the way!

SilverStar Mountain Resort is a picturesque destination offering skiing, snowboarding, biking, and more. Located in B.C.'s Thompson-Okanagan region, it boasts champagne-powder snow that falls frequently during winter. The resort features technical terrain on the backside of the mountain and is close to Vernon. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails like Electric Avenue but may find some trail connections unclear.

Have been coming to the bike park for 10 years and doesn’t cease to impress. For folks coming out from AB it’s a safe and a great bet for a closer to home but a “Whistler like” feeling mountain and resort. Bunch of bars, restaurants, good coffee and bakery, plenty of FREE parking. Good variety of trails, although mostly faster flow, with just a handful of tech trails. Won’t really see any rock slabs type of tech trails. Super fun overall

Eddy S — Google review

It was a great day hiking out at silverstar. I loved the electric avenue trail, absolutely stunning foliage despite the views being hindered by smoke. My one criticism would be that the map showed a connection to the cross-mountain trail to get back to the village, but this connection was not clearly marked for hikers. I ended up accidentally taking the service road back down to the chair lift. Would've loved to keep trekking onto a new trail instead of backtracking!

Celine D — Google review

This resort is the epitome of chill. Every staff in shops and restaurants were relaxed and friendly. We loved the small resort vibe. I wanted to live there. We didn't stay overnight but hope to do so this winter for skiing. Will rate accommodations then.

Very different than Quebec's outdoors and cold-dip spas, but loved the new experience. Arrived at check in and enjoyed the saunas right away. Tried a couple, even though we always go for the hottest dry sauna back home. Once we figured out the cold shower system, it was a good way to cool down. At the exit of that area, we found cold small towels for your face and neck, it reminded me of a welcome towel in an all-inclusive resorts, it was a nice touch. We experienced the walking path between warm and cold water good for circulation, very different, and truly surprised of the calming feeling after. There's cucumber water and lemon water in different locations in the spa as well as automated filling stations. In the rooms, you have a small fridge and you can get ice from the front desk. We had supper at Peak fine and the complementary breakfast as well. I was happy to have warm gluten free bread available. They accommodated dietary intolerances (gluten and dairy). I would definitely go back and try 2 nights as you might not feel the rush to do everything quickly.

Fun place for the family. Pet friendly, tasty restaurants and bakery. Cute lil shops. Friendly people running the shops and market. Definitely recommend bringing yourself or the family. Lots of nice trails for walking and biking. Great view. We got lucky and even got to see a thunder storm. Lots of lil critters to watch frolic, beautiful wild flowers everywhere. Very quiet, peaceful, Lots of local talent being shown off too.

We came in the late summer for a festival. The location does not get better, really close to local pubs and trails, gondola, etc. Only down side is the rooms have no AC and we had a room on the fifth floor on the western side. Was pretty warm with just one window a fan.

Honestly such a great bike park, the trails are so good and fun for people of all skill levels. My only constructive feedback would be for the bike wash station; the water pressure is so low it’s almost not effective in removing mud and dirt from the bikes. But the trails are so good it hardly matters

BikesAndBoards — Google review

The staff here at the rental shop are super knowledgeable and efficient. They want to ensure you get the best equipment suited to your level of skiing or snowboarding. This hill is a real gem and provides a great variety of snow experiences for all levels.

Enjoyed my time at the bike park. Title Line is my new favourite run! Trails can sometimes be deteriorated, some attention to Rockstar and Walk the Line would be nice. Still, you can see the trail crew gets out to fix the worst spots when rain etc. destroys berms. Overall an awesome place to ride!

Absolutely loved the day at the hill. We used Saturday day passes, but the lines were always small and hill almost empty. Everything was groomed and prepped. A very nice surprise after packed Whistler and Cypress

Rode the gondola to the top of the mountain with the grandkids....we enjoyed the ride up and down very much. I just wish there was a little more for the kids to do other then hiking trails....

I’ve been here during the summer and winter and it’s amazing. The ski slopes are nice and it’s not as foggy as Big White. During the summer there are nice hikes but also loads of mountain bike trails. I love this resort and highly recommend.

Hellene K — Google review

This resort has gone downhill drastically fast since the sale. The ski school this year has jacked up its prices. Cut the included lunch and after lessons aftercare. That’s after charging 20% more than last year. It’s a sad state of affairs after coming the last five years we will move our business to another resort. Perfect example of human greed and putting your customers last.

Came here on Friday March 15 2024 when I had a day off work. It was just what I needed. Blue bird day, perfect weather and nice skiing. What I like about Silver Star is the resort has still been able to maintain that family atmosphere vibe. The village has character, and the views at the top of the hill are amazing. Decided to take a tour of the mountain, and Sean was the host for the group I was in. He was knowledgeable, personable, entertaining, and funny. If Silver Star had an employee of the month award, Sean would get my vote. It was an awesome day

Fantastic resort with very colorful and cute buildings giving an excellent ambiance. Great views of the entire area from the top of the mountain all the way to the okanagan lake and the city of Vernon

The trails are very well kept and the bulldog pub had great food and huge portions. The staff was a rocking 10. Great gondola ride with more trails and awesome views

Arlene B — Google review

We went there about 10 times this season, to slide with the kids and take pictures. We went up the gondola, view is awesome, and watched the New Year festivities with the torches. Take note on the time of activities as most things happen earlier there than in the city.

We took skiing lessons and were paired with Hamish as our instructor! What an amazing guy. Hamish was patient and very soft spoken as well. Hamish kept helping us again and again because of which we didn’t feel like we were slowing down others in our group (even though we were). Hamish, you made our experience and training worth while. Thank you for the pleasant experience. :)

We spent a couple days riding the MTB trails at SilverStar and really enjoyed it. They have a nice variety of trails for riders of all skill levels. As always, some trails could use some maintenance but it looked like they were working on others. A lot of the trails have some fun features and all but a few on the double blacks had easy ride arounds, making it easy for a group with different skills to ride together. I do wish I had an enduro or downhill bike for some of the trails instead of the all-mountain but everything was still very rideable. We'll definitely try to get back in future years.

William A — Google review

We camped here and rode the bike park. Great location, easy ride in, ride out proximity from camp to bike trails. Great variety of trails and not super busy. Love this place.

In April of 2022 I spent 12 days at the Freedom Flight School completing the P1 and P2 courses with my brother. We had wanted to fly since we were kids, and we finally decided it was time to do it, so we traveled from Montreal and Toronto to Lumby to learn from the best instructors in Canada: Dave, Terry and Jason. The experience of learning to fly was incredible. We always felt safe with our instructors supporting us on the radio, and we got to see so many beautiful things. My brother flew next to a bald eagle, and I got to see a black bear with her cub walking in the forest down below. The ground school was also a lot of fun! Our instructors have a million stories to tell, and each one is more interesting than the last. Even waiting for the right conditions at Cooper's Launch was fun. We would look at hawks and how they adjust their wingspan to spot thermals and turbulent air, and also at the clouds. It's crazy how you start looking at nature in new ways when you learn how to fly.I recommend camping at the Flight Park if you can. It's awesome to live and breathe paragliding while you are there, and they have everything you need: trailers and space for tents, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, BBQ, kettle, plates, utensils, etc.), an outdoor shower and bathrooms. My only regret is that I didn't learn how to fly sooner. I don't know why I waited so long to do something that I had always wanted to do. So stop hesitating. You already found the best school ever, so go and learn how to fly! You'll make lots of new friends along the way too :-)

Experienced my first ever paragliding flight with instructor Dave who was amazing! I felt so comfortable taking off from the top of the mountain, he let me steer up high over the tree tops, and the the best part ever- a gentle spiral to come down. Although it was my first tine I fully trusted Dave. He listened to what i wanted (not too high or too long). :) I will definitely be back!

Highly recommended. Completed my P1 and P2 here. A great, progressive course that lets you gradually build up your skills. Dave and the rest of the staff were amazing. Can't say enough about them. The location provides great amenities. Just amazing!

I recommend Freedom Flight to anybody looking to spread their wings and start their paragliding journey! The welcoming energy and laidback vibe of the park makes it the perfect place to take those first steps. You will meet pilots of all kinds and learn something new from each one. The instructors are all attentive and personable and just awesome dudes with infectious passion for the sport. I had the best time here earning my P2 and will for sure be back to visit in the future!

Freedom Flight School is the real deal! No fuss no muss, just an awesome experience all around! It was an exhilarating trip that I know my daughters and I will remember for a long time, or until we get to do it again! Our pilots, Dave and Terry made it all look and feel so simple, and safe!! Highly recommend!!!

Amazing!!! I recently did a tandem paraglide with Freedom Flight school and it was just amazing. Dave and his staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable and hold safety in the highest of priority. Andrew was my tandem pro and he was fantastic. I look forward to coming back next summer to attain my P2 paragliding license with them. Thanks so much, guys! See you next summer! :D

David L — Google review

Had a fantastic experience learning to fly (P1 and P2) with Dave and his instructors this summer. The teaching is very high quality and tailored to each student, with instructors taking as much time as is needed to teach skills. This style of teaching is enabled by the flight school not having fixed intakes (and hence not having fixed timeframes for teaching). The equipment is also very good quality/condition, and Lumby is an excellent beginner flying site with opportunities to mountain launch and thermal as a student. Great atmosphere camping at the flight park with other pilots too! Can't imagine how learning P1 and P2 could be any better. Looking forward to coming back!

I have tried another school and chose to drive an extra 5 hours to learn here. The location and the instructors, Dave and Terry, make this an exceptional place to learn to fly. The whole community is welcoming and supportive. If you're considering taking up this amazing sport, this is the place to check it out.

Bruce D — Google review

This is the perfect place to start your paragliding journey whether you're looking to go on tandem flights or become a P2 pilot yourself. Dave and Terry are truly exceptional and dedicated instructors. I was also taken by the amazing community of pilots around the park that cheered me on and passed on their priceless wisdom in the sport. For me, it was well worth driving out from Calgary 3 separate times with my tent to complete my P1-P2, very grateful to Dave for making it work with my schedule. The school's main launch, Cooper's, is not only beginner friendly but also an outstanding starting point for XC flying beyond the course. Needless to say, I can't wait to go on my next flying adventure and will be coming back to Freedom Flight Park for years to come.

Can't say enough good things about Dave and the Freedom Flight School! Got my P1 and P2 here and what an ideal place to do it. Lumby provides a very safe environment to learn in terms of air stability and landing areas with opportunities to catch some awesome thermals as a learner. The Freedom Flight School is unique in that it's run out of the Freedom Flight Park which is essentially a flight hostel with a warm community of experienced pilots that will take you under their wing. There is camping and a lounge right adjacent to the landing zone. If you decide to camp on site which I would recommend, you'll enjoy the camaraderie of other learners, experienced pilots and Dave. Felt just as much like vacation as flight school, didn't expect to have near this much fun. The instruction was of top quality and I always felt safe. Dave was very in tune with my needs and goals as a learner. I feel well equipped to begin my career as a paraglider pilot!

Learning how to paraglide through Freedom Flight school was an outstanding experience. Each day was better than the last.Freedom Flight offers a variety of instructors, with years of experience and education. The instructors do a great job at delivering the information in a simplistic manor as well as keeping it enticing and fun.The Flight park it's self offers a wide range of amenities to further your learning and comfort. Paired with the many pilots flying and hanging around the park, made my time much more enjoyable. Thanks again Freedom Flight school. I will definitely be going back.

I recently had an incredible experience with Freedom Flight School, where I did a tandem flight. The whole experience was so much fun! The team (s/o Dave, Terry and Andrew) is not only professional but also extremely knowledgeable. They made me feel safe and prepared at every step, ensuring I could fully enjoy the thrill of flying. Highly recommend!

A few months ago, I saw a group of paragliders launch off a local peak and I could not shake the feeling of curiosity after seeing them gracefully find their way to the valley floor. While we were planning our trip to Silver Star, my wife was looking for things to do other than mountain biking and she came across Freedom Flight School. I was surprised when she suggested it but was more than happy to call her bluff!I was looking for an opportunity to book a flight, and one morning when I woke up, I was feeling less than 100% physically and thought a day off from downhill biking was better than risking injury ripping down the trails at Silver Star Bike Park. I knew it was a long shot, but I sent a note to Dave at 08:00 to ask about same-day flights. Within about an hour, our day was decided; we were going to be airborne in the early afternoon!Arriving in Lumby, my wife pointed to the sky. High in the sky, there were four paragliders looping around and falling gracefully toward the earth. We looked at each other and wondered what we were getting ourselves into. This was no longer an abstract concept; we were getting a look into our future at this moment. We arrived on-site and relaxed in the Pilot’s Lounge. Dave gave us a tour of the facility and introduced us to Andrew who was going to be piloting our second paraglider. We drove up the mountain road and had a thorough briefing while we waited for the clouds to back off a bit. Andrew and Dave were patiently waiting for the best conditions for launch; it was clear that they wanted to give us the best flight possible, given the conditions and were not in a rush to simply get it done. When it all came together, the launch was smooth and easy, and we were airborne for around twenty minutes. We floated over the landscape looking for thermals and maximizing air time. When it came time to land, we glided into the landing site and set down gently. They wrapped up all the gear and would not accept offers to help carry anything; we were very well taken care of.After the flight, we collected the (included) photos and videos and headed out on our way back to Silver Star with some fun new adventures to tell our kids about.Without hesitation, I would recommend Dave and the Freedom Flight School for a tandem flight experience. We had a fun time, and the atmosphere on-site was approachable, welcoming, and cool. If I lived closer, I would sign up to get my P1/P2 ratings. Thanks, guys! It was a blast!

It really is a fantastic school for learning to fly. I took my paragliding pilot's licence there in September 2023. The instructors are really very dedicated. The flying site is magnificent and above all the take-off and landing are very easy and safe, which is perfect for learning. I highly recommend this school.

This past summer I had the privilege of taking the P2 course with the amazing instructors at Freedom Flight School. Instructors Dave and Terry, and the facilities far exceeded my expectations. They were intentional and in depth with their instruction and always had a great story to tell. The equipment provided was modern and well taken care of. At Freedom Flight School they carry several different brands of paragliders and harnesses so I was able to try different ones and find the best wing for my size and skill level. The great thing about the school is that when you’re not flying you can hang out in the pilots lounge, have a bite to eat, take a nap, or connect with all the other pilots spending there summer in Lumby flying in the sky. The launch zone and landing zone are second to none and the views are hard to beat. Thanks again Dave and Terry and I can’t wait to go back soon!!

If you’re looking for an exceptional paragliding school or experience, you’ve found what you’re looking for. Dave and Terry are phenomenal and generous instructors, the training terrain at the park is superb, and the atmosphere of the flight lounge is addictive and very supportive. After trying another paragliding school in BC, I was blown away by the level of quality training that Freedom Flight provides, and I’m so pleased with my decision to have completed my P1 and P2 training with them. They made excellent suggestions for a setup, and I was thrilled to be able to buy everything I need for paragliding at the park. I would HIGHLY recommend their expertise when buying paragliding gear!!Dave and Terry really care and pay attention to details for all of their students, and safety (alongside tons of fun) is their number one priority. Whether it’s a tandem flight, or learning how to fly, I’m certain you’ll be more than satisfied with your experience at Freedom Flight.

Did my P2 cert here. Dave Terry and Jerry are incredibly experienced and kind instructors. There's a wonderful community of pilots here as well. They were extremely accommodating for my weird schedule, and also helped me source gear after graduating which is one of the most daunting parts of the whole process. I've recommended this place to many friends already.

E — Google review

I completed my P1 and P2 paraglide training with Freedom Flight School over approximately two weeks in June, and remained for another 2 weeks at the flight park into July to continue to fly and build my skills. The instructors were all terrific. They not only knew their craft very well - as evidenced by our rapid yet comfortable progression in skill and exercises - but also had great demeanours and sense of humour that made the whole experience a pleasure. The environment of the school and flight park was equally valuable. On a daily basis, the lounge, camp area, and launches would be frequented by students and returning pilots of every skill level... observing the morning's conditions and forecasts, crafting plans for the day, pooling together for trips to launches, sharing in the joys of flight, and discussing the day's events in the evening over dinner, games or a fire. This immersive environment that Freedom Flight School fosters and operates in, makes it not merely a provider of instruction, but a community and a destination that actively contributes to the development of pilots on an ongoing basis.I can't imagine having gone anywhere else for my training, and I look forward to returning.

Since the first time I watched my friend run off the side of a mountain in Australia with a paraglider, I wanted to do it. It took about a decade for me to find the time, money, and courage to take up the sport finally. When I was ready, I researched and contacted many schools across Canada, and Freedom Flight School stood above the rest in terms of reviews, reputation, instructor experience, and cost. Dave Underwood quickly replied to my myriad of questions and was of great help in sorting out my accommodations--I had about a month to attain my P1 and P2 certificates and had my dog with me. The flight park has its own campground with a unique open lounge and hot shower. Dave and Terry were my instructors, and right off the bat, you can tell that they were exceptionally experienced and well-respected amongst all the pilots that hung around the park. They communicated clearly and were professional, patient, and understanding. More importantly, they built up my confidence in the sport, so I feel comfortable leaving the park to fly in new and unfamiliar sites. Dave also brought in another instructor, Jerry, from time to time, who went above and beyond with teaching me about air space regulations (HAGAR). I am extremely delighted that I chose Freedom Flight School to learn paragliding. I don't think there is another school with this amount of support. The flight park also hosted a great community of new and experienced pilots. Pilots across Canada (as well as the US and Europe) flocked to the park during the summer and everyone made sure that the newbies were encouraged, supported, and comfortable. Freedom Flight School has built an amazing community and I can't speak highly enough of it. I would recommend this school to anyone thinking of learning to paraglide. 10/10.

I visited Freedom Flight School with my partner this year - I don’t paraglide but was there as support. Found a great community there that was super supportive and friendly. And my partner got some great flying days in even at the tail end of the season! The camping is simple but comfortable, and the location is convenient for groceries etc. Previous to visiting the school, I didn’t think I wanted to try paragliding, but watching a few other people learn I saw first hand how the setup and instructors make everything very approachable. I even got in a tandem flight which was very cool, I will be back next year to learn more!

The dairy's products are popular among both locals and tourists, with many visitors returning for generations.

BEST CHOCOLATE MILK you can find! We had such a great experience visiting Dutchmen’s Dairy. Highly recommend taking a stop to check this place out.

The very first ice cream shop that didn’t offer any samples before ordering! She said, “No samples since we are very busy,” which wasn’t the case compared to many other high-end ice cream shops that are genuinely busy and still take care of their customers by providing samples. I ended up ordering the basic vanilla, which was okay, but my family ordered different flavors and didn’t like them, finding them mostly too sweet.

Vafa A — Google review

A short lineup on a hot day and we were in. Big selection of ice creams and a cool dairy farm feel to the shop. Service was friendly and the temptation to try a triple cone was strong as I may not pass this way again soon. Tried the chocolate chili, peaches and cream and strawberry shortcake on top. The tastes were good, but lacked the intensity and creaminess in the fruit, and lacked the chocolate taste in the chocolate chili - but the chili really packed a punch, overpowering the chocolate. Three stars for the icecream and an extra star for the shop and staff.

We were looking forward to making a stop here on our trip. They sold many items that, reminded me of Amsterdam. There were plenty of dairy products on offer, and I absolutely love the ice cream here. My personal favorites were cotton candy, mango cream, and shark bite. Shark bite was the best!"

Very busy place and I now know why. Great ice cream and atmosphere. Love that you can walk around see the cows, tractor play area and the grounds. Well worth stopping

We stopped at D Dutchmen Dairy for our cow crazy child, and she was in heaven! The kids immediately ran to the barns to check out the Holstein cows and calves. They lived being able to pet them and take photos of them.We then visited the other parts of the farm that house various types of birds, played in the tractor area before stopping for some ice cream. The lineup was quite long, but it moved fairly quickly. They have a large selection of in-house made ice creams. We all greatly enjoyed our choices. I did find the peaches and cream did not have much peach flavour though, which was disappointing, but the peppermint patty was very tasty and flavourful.Parking is definitely not the easiest to find and many park along the road, so be mindful of children and pedestrians. We'll definitely stop again while driving through.

Was looking forward to making a stop here on our trip from Revelstoke to Kelowna. They sold many things here which had the Netherlands vibe. There were many dairy products on offer. Their blocks of flavoured cheese looked so good. We settled with trying their curd and milk (both regular and chocolate). The milk was so good and we have yet to try the curd.

My extended family and I have been coming to D Dutchman for several decades. I am a picky ice cream person and love the creaminess of their products. So many interesting ice cream flavours, their whipped cream is so yummy on fresh waffle at our house in the morning, and the animals are fun to watch. It is a working farm with all the appropriate smells, so saddle up and have a great time!

Not worth the hype in my opinion.Grumpy ice cream lady, no tiny spoon samples, kids ice cream almost same price as one scoop, extra for a cup. My husband and I got a few items from here: a cone, shake, fresh cheese, and a sparkling apple juice! Everything was extremely fresh and flavourful! The ice cream was great because it wasn’t too sweet —just right, and the Sparkling apple juice tasted like fresh-pressed!! The cheese we got is also perfect! Overall we are looking forward to getting some items to go back with us to Calgary. Thank you!!!

Ice cream is reliable, good, but not outstanding in any way. The double dutch chocolate flavour tastes great! After so many years, it's about time they make it more accessible and easier to navigate, given that there's always heavy traffic and lines to get ice cream.Otherwise, a great roadside ice cream place with friendly cows, a symbol of Sicamous.Update: staff is great ❤

Restaurant Name: Dutchmen DairyAdress: 1321 Maier Rd, Sicamous, BC V0E 2V1The Dutchmen Dairy produces 62 different flavors of our artisan ice cream on location at D Dutchmen Dairy. Here, 40 of the Flavours are available in 1Litres, 2Litres, and 4Litres tubs.I had their Turtle Cheesecake of one scoop, and it cost me around 5.25 CAD. They also sell two scoops and three scoops, but to me, it was tough to finish one scoop, and I suggest ordering a single one as the quantity of one scoop is huge. The base of the Turtle cheesecake ice cream is often a thick, rich ice cream that tastes similar to cheesecake. Most of the time, cream, sugar, cream cheese, and sometimes vanilla flavoring are used to make this ice cream base.

Ashik U — Google review

Honestly it's a novelty tourist trap and not much more. Compared to the other great ice cream choices in the area, I was disappointed. Not creamy, kind of icy/crumbly and the actual strength of the flavors were weak...

Warm, remote hotel offering informal suites with full kitchens, plus hot spring pools.

Great little outdoorsy gem. Lots of options to choose from for your stay from dog friendly suites, cabins or camping. Pools are great temperature (warmer/ hotter pool) and there is a cold plunge for those who like to partake. Nicely lit up at night as well. There is also a river within walking distance for pets/ kids to play at.

I am 8.5 months pregnant with a toddler and stayed here during a heat wave with smoky conditions all around (but fortunately not in the resort). We stayed in a cabin and had an absolutely amazing experience. The cabin was gorgeous and had all the amenities and most importantly great AC to escape to during the peak heat of the day. The hot pools included a 32 degree C pool that was plenty cool and refreshing in the hot weather. Staff were super friendly, the resort was clean, and there was lots to see and do on and off the resort. I would 100% return.

Okay, so lets start this by saying we were in a bush site with no hookups, but this facility has come a long way over the years. The train never bothered anyone in our party, ( even those in the tents ) the bathrooms have to be the cleanest bathrooms you will find at a campsite, the wash stations for dishes is a nice touch, we really enjoyed our time there. Our kids love the pools, and my wife and I love walking around with the pup, and looking at all the cool history of Taft.Keep up with the good work.

Very nicely maintained and clean. The office has everything you need if you forgot or didn’t pack it.Towels and locks are included for guests who booked a suite.**There is also a suspension bridge and waterfall right across the highway. It is an additional cost to enter.Rooms: We booked a suite. Spacious, clean, new modern look. They provide coffee, tea, shampoo, conditioner, body wash.Service: Great service, very friendly all around. Check-in and check-out was smooth.Location: Right off the highway. Calm and quite where the suites are.

As a resident of Revelstoke for the past 20+ years this place is incredible!! Britt provided the most amazing service and seriously the best smokies my family and I have had. It was better than I could have made for myself with cheese melted perfectly with a toasted bun and bacon to top it. She made us feel right at home and the prices are so fair I’d seriously consider driving all the way out for the food alone not to mention how awesome the park/play area is for kiddos great way to burn their beans 🥰 also the pickles they have for sale as singles are the best I have had! The views are incredible but worth it even just for the food and amazing hospitality

We have been going here for years and always like the spot. We went last week and enjoyed the pools, the staff was friendly. However, they charged us the standard rate for two adults admission to the pools (about $40 which we were fine with). We then wanted to enjoy the waterfall hike, and they wanted us to pay another $30 just to walk up the trail. We chose to decline as the price was a little steep to simply hike to the top. Perhaps they should consider allowing people who have already paid for the pools admission to also do the hike.

Seus — Google review

The campground is huge and the sites are spacious. They maintain the campground and amenities well. The staff are very accommodating. We loved the 4 pools, you have option to choose warm (32C), warmer (37.5c), warmest (40C) or if you dare to go in the cold plunge. Lots of things to see and explore around, the trails, Eagle river (we saw Salmon along the river), The suspension bridge and wateralls. We had an amazing time. Will definitely go back.

Bianca C — Google review

We stopped in for the pools after a walk through the falls across the highway-- how lovely!!It was 35° and we weren't sure about hot pools but the cold plunge was amazing and we left feeling totally relaxed and refreshed.A gorgeous spot, run by lovely people all around!

Sherry-Lee H — Google review

We really enjoy crazy creek and the area. We love the accessing the river with the dogs. For the most part the service from staff was good, but there was one lady at the office that was not pleasant to deal with. The hot pools are ok but fairly expensive for what they are. As campers renting full serviced sites, we feel there should be a better rate then what we were given. If you rent a cabin the pools are included with your nightly fees, but not if you're staying I the campground.

Greg M — Google review

This was a wonderful place to stop on our way. The hot pools were clean and so fun to sit in the cold rain. The suspension bridge was a nice hike with a little cafe just at the end for a small treat. The suspension bridge is dog friendly as long as they are leashed. We saw lots of snails, slugs, mushrooms and different types of plants on our hike. Everything was clean and check in was easy. Thanks for having us!

Loan — Google review

We stayed here for the first time July 2024. We were in a forested tent site and we loved it. The washrooms were clean and well kept. The pool facilities were well maintained and honestly a godsend as the first few days it was raining and cold so dipping into the hot pools kept us quite warm and happy. The location was great for us, easy to find right off of the highway. The trains did run through quite often but it not once affected our ability to sleep which we did worry about initially. We also explored across the way hiked the gorge and checked out the supsension bridge. The staff at the resort were very helpful, friendly and made our first stay very enjoyable and stress free! We will definitely come back and maybe try a cabin as they looked really nice. Very family friendly place, the kids really enjoyed seeing all the ruins spread across the resort property. Really a great relaxing and chill environment.

Monica B — Google review

We really enjoyed our time. It’s worth it to get accommodations as locker rentals/towels etc are included as well as access to the hot pools. A bit sketchy to turn left across the Hwy when you arrive if you’re heading West but all in all we had a great time. The eagle river access and beach are beautiful. Wish we had stayed longer so we could have explored more.

Lucia S — Google review

what a beautiful resort and such a nice getaway! the cabins are new and very clean with everything you need. The staff were really friendly and the property was clean. I love how each cabin has their own fire pit and chairs. Great area for hikes and walking to the waterfall and suspension bridge and not far from Revelstoke for food

Theresa P — Google review

This place is truly, a hidden gem. The staff the caretaker, the manager, the Groundskeeper all were truly beyond amazing. The pools were outstanding a brand new cabin was outstanding. The crazy Creek Falls was beyond the most beautiful scenic Suspension bridge I’ve ever seen in my life. The trails, the walks, the rivers were all beyond outstanding!!The only downfall was there’s no storage for your clothes in the master bedroom, It was very frustrating. The other downfall is, they don’t have full attention and kitchen supplies. They definitely need more cutting knives and steak, knives and bowls. This is truly our go to place with our family four times a year. We’ve always looked for a place that we can take our family every year.Thank you very much for the most amazing service and fun and experience we’ve had with our family.

John W — Google review

Our family had a wonderful time at Crazy Creek. We loved the live music and the hot pools were amazing. We stayed in one of the new tiny homes and it had everything we could need. The staff at the front desk were so kind which made our stay even better. We will definitely be coming back!

Nestled in the lush old-growth forest of the Monashee mountains, The Enchanted Forest is a whimsical attraction featuring fairy tale-themed buildings and storybook characters. Visitors can step back in time and encounter beloved figures such as Goldilocks, Snow White, Winnie-the-Pooh, Captain Hook, and more. The handcrafted sculptures and attention to detail create an enchanting atmosphere for both kids and adults to enjoy.

A small hiking experience with fun for family, especially kids. Loved it.

Saliha S — Google review

My kids absolutely loved it here. We have driven by a couple of times before on our way but this time we had an hour on hand and decided to take the kids there. They couldn't be happier. Took us almost 50 minutes and the kids still couldn't complete all of it. Would recommend an hour for curious kids. The tree house is indeed GRAND and well built!!

Jagdeep R — Google review

This was soo much fun!!! Watching my daughter explore the forest with all its houses and characters was wonderful! We also knew the nursery rhymes displayed, which made it just as exciting for us parents. I recommend buying the food for the ducks and fish at the end of the trail. Also, bring extra money to grab a souvenir at the gift shop, you wont want to leave without something to remember this magical place by. ✨️

Victoria J — Google review

Super cute place. The kids loved it, and on your way in, you get a bag of fish food you can feed the fish at the end of the trail. They have this sky trek place right next door to them as well. You can zip line and do all kinds of fun stuff.

Tia M — Google review

We visited the Enchanted Forest for the first time, and we really enjoyed it. The park is well-maintained, and we created lots of refreshing memories. As kids, we had heard the stories, and seeing those tales brought to a fun filled little world, was so much fun. There’s a trail called the “Nature Walk,” which is a wonderful 2-kilometer path. It was the best part of our visit, as it’s surrounded by thick trees and offers incredible views. As we walked through the woods, we spotted a train passing through at the other end of the lush green forest, and it looked so picturesque.

Rach P — Google review

Great place to spend with family with young kids and adults alike. Brings back the magic and imagination of most of the fairytale characters. They also have a little gift shop there. Bring your own food and drinks.

Hector J — Google review

The Enchanted Forest is a must-stop, especially if you have kids! It’s a lovely walk through the forest with plenty to see and enjoy along the way. Although it was busy with lots of excited children, the whimsical atmosphere made it worth it. Definitely a fun and magical experience for families!

Maggie N — Google review

I'd been by this place many times, and it always reminded my of being a kid and being intrigued by these type of roadside tourist attractions. So this time I stopped! There has been a lot of work to capture fairy tail creatures and create a walking museum in a beautiful mountain forest!

Bill S — Google review

Absolutely loved the enchanted forest! The handmade characters were so whimsical and fun, it was like being transported into a storybook from childhood! My 2yr old had the best time exploring all the little houses and climbing the very impressive tree house! Would definitely recommend checking out!

Nicole W — Google review

I always see Enchanted Forest's inviting castle entrance whenever we kick off our long drives. However always for the last years, its hours has never worked for us. This year however, was the year and we were pleasantly surprised that we thoroughly enjpyed our visit. There is no one younger than 25 in our party yet we still had a good time walking around and appreciating the sculptures scattered around. We finished the main attraction in 2 hours, however, there is also a walking trail that can extend your visit for another hour or two, depending on your hiking pace. Definitely worth a visit if you have kids or kids at heart on your entourage 😄

A G — Google review

Was an awesome experience! Hubby & I took our 6 yr old son & I would recommend it to take your little ones. Also it is pet friendly, we had out little dog & big dog with us, as long as pets are behaved & on a leach it's a wonderful & fun experience.Go check it out 👍

Lorraine D — Google review

So much better than expected! My husband and I wanted to take my step son here. We watched some videos online so didn’t have high hopes for the walk through the forest but we’re pleasantly surprised. A lot of the buildings you could go into (more for kids but I was small enough that I could go in some too 😂) and then at the end we did the nature walk. I think it took us around 20 minutes and we really liked it. Gave us something fun to do. At the end you can feed the fish and my step son really liked that since they all came up super quick to try and grab the food. Was also quite dead so we picked a good day to go haha.

Brianna M — Google review

Really enjoyed visiting the Enchanted Forest 27 years after my last visit, but this time with kids of my own. Lots of nostalgia in the visit. It was a great walk and we had a very relaxing time enjoying it all.

Gregory O — Google review

I really wish I had brought my kids here when they were younger. Their imagination would have gone wild! However, we all still had a great time, even in the rain. Our personal favorite was the Nature Trail

T.L.G. — Google review

We decided to stop at The Enchanted Forest given that the next time we may come through our children may be too old or not interested in it any longer. There's a lot to see at The Enchanted Forest, and it was nice to see how they recognized most of the fairy tale characters and stories. The grounds were kept nice and clean. It was quite warm in the forest though, but it was a very hot day out. The trees do provide a lot of shade. It's too bad they didn't have any misting stations going. The Enchanted Forest is great for younger children, but older ones may find it a bit boring even though there's lots to see and explore The entrances into some of the houses/buildings are definitely made for smaller kids and taller adults may struggle to get in and out.Note that if you end up purchasing fish food, the fish pond is at the end and theres a lot of fish food just floating around already. We found that if you threw it into an area where the current is a bit stronger and there's no accumulated fish food floating about, that I he fish would grab it as they mimic insects hitting the water. Our next visit will probably be at the SkyTrek Adventure Park which is right next door.

Marc D — Google review

Enchanted! It was amazing to see the crazy amount of work that was put in to all the sculptures. A wife and husband bought the land and decided to make it an enchanted forrest walk. Everything is hand made and with great attention to detail. The only thing is it is a little expensive for the 1 hour long walk that only takes that long because of the waits at all the sculptures. Worth the one time through and absolutely beautiful. Kids love the fantasy setting! There was a staff member who was cleaning the dungeon area in the basement that was cleaning the dragon pen, and my child asked if the dragon was real. She said yes, of course, and the bones are of its last meal. My child looked at her with absolute amazement and horror. She then said it's ok, he's already eaten! In that moment, she was brought to a place of magic and whimsy. Beautiful

L8n J — Google review

My parents brought us when we were kids and I in turn have brought my kids and my wife who has never been. It’s a great place for the family to stretch their legs and go thru the forest. Highly recommend making family memories here.

Billy Z — Google review

What an amazing place to go. We took pur three year old grandson there and the absolute joy he had running around and going through all the buildings was great and even our nineteen year out daughter enjoyed being pulled through everything. Can't wait to visit again

Jason F — Google review

This was a great spot to break our journey and stretch our legs. The sculptures were....interesting. some were cute and some were a little creepy. The nature walk was great...we saw a few salmon. It took us about 30 mins. The sign said it would take 30mins to 1hr 20 mins. The sign did indicate you could do it with a stroller but I would not recommend taking a stroller through

Anjum M — Google review

Coming from Calgary, for us it's being in this forest that is magical. The trees, the vegetation, its spectacular! The little houses are adorable, the kids love all the characters and ode to nursery rhymes. My 3 yr old said this place is amazing and I watched him constantly run ahead to check out the next thing! The short nature hike is a must do,gorgeous. Entry price for adults is 14 and kids $9

Akash P — Google review

Absolutely adorable place to stop and visit. My 8 month old enjoyed looking at all the bright colors we passed by, while I enjoyed looking at some of the more unhinged figures

Kelly B — Google review

beautifully blended into the natural forest setting, fairy tale past times came alive through the well-built structures and statutes. The theme park is very clean and well maintained, a must-see if you ever travel near Revelstoke. Though it was a rainy day, the forest acted as natural umbrellas that it was still very enjoyable.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a popular destination in Revelstoke, offering an extensive ski area with over 65 runs, two hotels, dining options, a spa, and heated pools. In addition to its winter allure, the resort transforms into a vibrant playground during the summer months. Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as BC Interior Forestry Museum and Glacier National Park of Canada.

We had a fantastic time. Did some hiking, mountain biking and the pipe mountain coaster. We asked for assistance with directions and a patroller named Mike was able to help us. He's super knowledgeable, very friendly and approachable. He even recommended the restaurant at the mountain when we asked if there was anywhere good for lunch. Man was he right. Everything we ordered was delicious! We can't wait to come back again.

Brie C — Google review

It's pretty easy to get around the village. Staff was cheary and helpful.I walked up the bottoms-up trail and took the sled ride down on the track. It's so fun. An inexpensive way to enjoy the resort without spending the whole day or blowing the budget. There were lots of parking staff, so it wasn't confusing at all.

Rebekah D — Google review

The terrain is unbelievable!! Definitely geared towards more experienced riders and skiers. For the price, I wouldn’t recommend for first timers since you’ll barely get to explore and experience what the mountain has to offer. For everyone else, it’s a paradise 🙌🏼

Wyld C — Google review

This was my first time in Revelstoke. Wanted to check it out for the next winter vacation.I climbed to the top with 2 gondolas and the view was gorgeous. The resort has many activities such as mountain biking, hiking, coaster etcThe access to the resort is easy and straightforward. The resort is also expanding - noticed a few construction sites (parking, hotels).I also like the city. Nice and small city with a lot of small shops and cafes. The city center is particularly beautiful.I enjoyed the day and am looking forward to snowboarding over there.

Nikola R — Google review

Had a great day here in the summer riding the mountain coaster, axe throwing and playing dishing before taking the gondola to enjoy the views. Great day here with very nice staff and fun activities. Super nice experience with just a small disappointedly very few, pricy food options.

Paddy U — Google review

Awesome place for a family outing in the summer. We did the play all day pass and spent five hours there. We did everything except the disc golf. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pipe coaster was so fun! Gondola rides and views were great. Burgers at the top of the gondola were delicious!! Would love to come back and hike or bike!

Lucyna P — Google review

Great snow at the top, above the main gondola. Lots of powder, fantastic conditions. Black runs are enjoyable. Got my legs pretty exhausted by the end of the day.

Visited in summer season. Great rooms and nice complex with a pool, hot tubs and sauna. A number of fun activities to do. Small gym too. Restaurants are of good quality. Well-served throughout our stay.

We visited in summer to do pipecoaster . It is a really fun place and a beautiful resort. The pipecoaster is fun. We didn’t try mountain biking but definitely looked fun.We stayed in the hotel there and everything was very accessible. The restaurants were nice on the property also.

Sampada B — Google review

Revelstoke is the real deal, a genuine mountain town. It’s set along the gorgeous Columbia River. We were there beginning of September. Perfect weather. Be sure to take your mountain bikes up the gondola. We rode up Stoke Climb and rode the entire 5620’ flow trail down. Spectacular! Super happy to have visited Revelstoke. My favorite town on our multi-week trip. Super nice people too!

MMH L — Google review

Pretty fair value for a day of entertainment.Tram ride to the top was cool. Could have used a 3rd ride down the coaster for my $'s..

Robert P — Google review

What a hill, probably my new favourite place in the west with fresh snow.. Lots of glades and runs, and step blacks. You can be in the trees if the light is bad, or hunt for powered in the trees. Photo are from week before close 23/24 season. I will travel to this hill whenever they get 20cm or more forecast.

Trevor R — Google review

We had an amazing time at Revelstoke Mountain Resort! The highlight of our trip was definitely the Pipe Mountain Coaster – it’s an exhilarating ride with stunning views, and we couldn’t get enough of it. The Gondola ride was another favorite, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We also loved exploring the beautiful waterfall, which provided a perfect spot for a peaceful and scenic break. Overall, Revelstoke is a fantastic destination with a perfect mix of adventure and natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable mountain getaway!

KK G — Google review

You know when things can't possibly live up to the hype? That's Revelstoke. The mountains are beautiful. But the resort leaves much to be desired. They boast the largest vertical drop in North America: over 1,700 meters (5,600 feet). But what they don't tell you is that only the highest 25% of that terrain is consistently skiable with decent snow. Some of that also isn't lift-served. During our visit in mid-February, most of the runs below 1,800 meters (6,000 feet) elevation were closed, a mix of mud, rocks, bushes and sad patches of rapidly melting slush. So this resort is really about 500m of vert, essentially the same as many others you'll get in the western US and Canada. The snow quality is pretty much Sierra Cement; we called it Canadian Concrete. Blower powder? Not so much. The base village was a mud hole, especially the area around the gondola which is the only way to get up and out of the base, creating a massive choke point and long lines in the morning. The village itself is nice, but pretty limited. There's a bar and an over-priced restaurant and a handful of ski shops. If you want anything else, you have to go into town, which is about 7 km away and serviced by a small bus that only runs about once an hour in the evening.I've certainly skied worse resorts than Revelstoke, but the price to be paid to reach this remote location, coupled with the drawbacks outlined above, mean I won't be back.

Mjn — Google review

Sorry Revelstoke Resort but the Town of Revy is doing all the heavy lifting.OK so here goes. Will not comment about the snow as we had a heat wave in mid March so that’s all about Mother Nature not playing ball. It’s an awesome ski town. Yes the resort has some nice fall line and some easy to access side country. Now here come the “buts”.The town is doing all the hard work for the resort. The resort needs to mature a little. Yes the grand plans of old to install lots of new lift that expand the terrain have not happened. “But” there is so much that can be done to improve the vibe of the resort. A simple food truck with some tunes and good food at the bottom or top of Ripper chair would create some options and vibe. Mackenzie Outpost, is on the money, “but” get some more lounge chairs 50% of the people are looking for. Spot to sit, lounge and spend money (take a research trip to a European resort and see how it’s done with simple sun lounges).Revelation Lodge - For the current owner just remember it’s not a Denny’s, it’s got zero vibe unless you like public school halls.

Oskar L — Google review

Great location, with a gondola right out the back door and, for us, a great view. People were all very nice and there is a decent restaurant on site. Our room was nice with a full kitchen and a balcony. I did take off one star because both bathrooms in our 2 bedroom 2 barn unit looked like they had a lot of mold in them. Otherwise, the place was very clean, but those showers were scary.

Pete S — Google review

Revelstoke is a gem! The slopes are uncrowded, and the ski runs are nicely groomed. Intermediate skiers can explore easier glades and terrains. This is my first time skiing through glades. Personally, I loved the Back40 near Ripper chair; it was so much fun!

Jie ( — Google review

We got the full gondola pass tickets and hiked the Greely Trail. It took us 1h 40m to hike to the top and wow was it worth it! We also got burgers from the restaurant on the slopes which were really great. Would thoroughly recommend visiting in the summer.

Anna O — Google review

Great summer fun and views. Climbing adventure part is cool, pipeline is fun. However I'd suggest the signage for the 'disc golf' is lacking and led us to the 3rd hole where we soon ended our disc golf adventure. Skip the disc golf and go for a hike.

Regan - — Google review

Fantastic summer activities for my whole family ages 9, 14, 16, and adults. Staff were helpful. Play All Day pass was a reasonable price.

We spent two nights here up in the resort. We had a lovely suite overlooking the pool area. There are two restaurants which were great to dine in. My sons also enjoyed a gym session too.

National park

Nature & Parks

Mount Revelstoke National Park, located just northeast of its namesake town, is a stunning 260-square-kilometer park offering wooded hiking paths, rainforest terrain, and breathtaking elevated views. Despite its relatively small size for a national park, it boasts diverse landscapes including old-growth rainforest with ancient red cedars and pine trees, steep mountains, and abundant plant and animal life.

Beautiful place to stop and stretch. A nice short walk with lots of nature to take in.

B D — Google review

An absolutely stunning place, the meadows in the sky parkway is a great twisty drive with viewpoints along the way and it brings you out to a panoramic view at the top. There are two small car parks at the top that fill up early - one for RVs and one for cars. It's popular because the summit is a short 1km hike from the car parks. The panoramic viewpoint is 100m from the road which you can park cars along one side of (but not the other). It is a beautiful view from here over the mountains and there is a nice bench. One problem we had was there is only one way onto the parkway and a booth with a single person controlled entry. We had a parks pass already but it seemed like many people didn't and decided this was a good time to have a discussion on the merits of the parks pass. Unfortunately there was no lane for drivers who already had a pass so although we were only 5 cars back it took about 15 minutes to get it. I think this is an oversight and could be managed better, but didn't spoil the drive.

Luke H — Google review

We stayed at snowforest over the May long weekend. This is a relatively new campground and we really enjoyed our stay. Sites are well spaced, bathroom and washing facilities are very modern and clean, wood is available for camp fires (make sure to bring an axe, not just a hatchet), and the trails literally leave from the campground to hike as far as you possibly like. Definitely going to become our regular stay when visiting Revelstoke. Highly recommend booking early for peak times. Limited first-come-first-servecspots available.

Anthony K — Google review

Be prepared for cooler temps than down in the town of Revelstoke. Many gorgeous trails criss-crossing the top of the mountain. Picnic tables and pit toilets. Amazing wildflowers when we went in mid August. You cannot drive the last 1km, but the road is still available to walk up. My husband went up and said the view was fantastic.Even if you just stay near the parking lot it is still gorgeous and there are many trails to explore.

Catherine K — Google review

Don’t waste your time. Road is closed at 14 km away to summit. There is no any notice or sign at the entrance about road close. You will realize you have to walk 14KM to the top after you driving 20mins from the entrance. Maybe June or August will be better.

Jin H — Google review

Fairly simple trails at the top of Mount Revelstoke that could be completed in ~4-5 hours. The trail is well maintained, but could get muddy under sub-optimal weather conditions. I had a great hike despite the rapid-changing weather conditions. The views at Jade Lake was a bit anti-climatic. If you aren't intenting to camp, stopping at the ridge between Miller and Jade lakes is sufficient. The ridge had by far the best view of the trail.

Kevin L — Google review

Beautiful mountain and park! You can drive almost right up to the summit (short, but fairly strenuous walk to the summit from parking lot). Unfortunately was hazy from wildfires when we visited, but it must be one of the most spectacular places imaginable on a clear day. We found a rare BC lizard on the mountain, couldn’t find the salamanders. Come for the views! Note there are also trails down the mountain at lower elevations with spectacular forests.

Kent 1 — Google review

Paternalism at every turn. They barred access to the summit from vehicles (fine), bicycles (weird), and even foot travellers (unacceptable). The fat guard they posted on the road informed us that the mountain trails, the whole reason we came here and spent thousands of dollars, were closed was that there was snow on the trails. Do not come here. It's run by children.

Shawn G — Google review

Really enjoyable area to explore with scenic views. A selection of different trails for different skill levels offer lots of options.Lots of mosquitoes in July.

Daniel S — Google review

Stunning place. A little busy and had to line up at the park entrance to go up the mountain. It was about 45-60 min wait in the mid to late afternoon. When we got to the top it was nice and cool on a hot summers day.

Kim C — Google review

We drove through right before sunset and did one hike. Very nice. Took great pics. Would def recommend going. Wearing hiking boots and having water is a must!

Michaela H — Google review

We loved the snow forest campground. Best bathrooms and showers of any campground we have been to. It's at the base of the road to thmeadow summit so very convenient. No trailers or dogs allowed at the top.

Greg H — Google review

Magnificent place to go camping with your family and friends. It's our 1st time to go there and it's really worth it. We camp near the lake & so lucky to watch fireworks across our spot as well. Space is spacious enough for RVs, trucks & tents.

Myles B — Google review

Beautiful. Lots of different types of hikes for everyone to do. Miller lake is a must do for slightly intermediate hikers. Trails are pretty well kept road goes on forever

Makena L — Google review

We did a fantastic half day hike from about 2/3 of the way up to the top of the mountain. I highly recommend not driving all the way up - there are some really beautiful trails and very helpful park staff eager to help anyone with questions. Highly recommend!

Michelle H — Google review

A beautiful park to visit! Well worth the long trip up to the top of the mountain to see the amazing view and glorious mountain Flora and Fauna! Loved it!

Michelle D — Google review

The drive up to the top is spectacular! We did this drive in mid July and the wildflowers lining the road were beautiful. There were many hikes available along the way up, it was not congested with tourists, and parking was available in the middle of the day at the top. There was also a free shuttle up and down for those not able to make the short uphill hike to the summit. I would highly recommend this park and the sky meadow parkway for anyone who would like to enjoy the Canadian Rockies without crowds and with light to no hiking.

Beautiful hike and scenery.

Fulop — Google review

We had to wait for quite a long time to drive up the parkway. It wasn't really a meadow. More of a mountain peak. Still fun to walk around and the trails were all accessible. Would recommend for families.

Really beautiful national Park with some easy hikes and trails.

Hiking Trails

The Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail in Mount Revelstoke National Park offers a serene and family-friendly experience. The short hiking loop takes you through a beautiful rainforest landscape, allowing you to walk among towering 500-year-old cedar trees. Interpretive signs along the route provide information about the local flora and fauna. Despite being temporarily closed due to snow damage, this stop is known for its easy access to British Columbia's famous old-growth cedars.

Good place to check out while driving through the area. The cedars here are massive. It doesn’t take too long to walk the boardwalk. It appears that the boardwalk used to be longer (connect back to parking lot creating loop), but that isn’t the case anymore unfortunately. Overall, it is a great place.

Ryan R — Google review

Place is closed over a year. No signs anywhere until you park and walk over to the entrance of the boardwalk. About 25 cars pulled in while we were there and needed up being just as disappointed as we where.

Keith C — Google review

Nice little trip to drop by. But currently the stairs are broken and need to fixed so partial closure.

Wudifeixue — Google review

An awesome place to stop for lunch, washroom break or a quick walk while driving along highway 1. flushable toilets, plenty of sitting with tree shade & ample parking make this a very relaxing spot to chill. The boardwalk itself is short but nestled in nature.

Nipun H — Google review

Nice picnic areas with shade (better than Skunk Cabbage). The hiking trail is currently closed, but you can still picnic. A nice place to stop for lunch and see a few big cedars.

C R — Google review

The trail just opened in August 2024 after being closed for a couple years due to the trail being damaged. It's still being repaired so the whole trail is not open at the moment so it took us about 5 minutes to finish. We spoke to the parks ranger and he told us they're hoping to get it repaired this year but if not probably next year in the summer. Overall nice and easy walk to check out the cedar trees and boardwalk.

Kyra — Google review

A good place to stop, walk, and learn more about the interior rainforest. The second part of the elevated boardwalk is still closed (as of Sept. 25th., 2024) due to a fallen tree. It took us just around 20 minutes to take that walk and to read most of the posters.

Jan M — Google review

Very easy to access and a pleasure to scroll through an old growth cedar Grove. the boardwalk meanders through the majestic Forest across bubbling Brooks and green foliage on the forest floor. It's a very short walk so if you're passing it by on a trip make sure you stop in to check it out!Went open there's lots of parking and good bathroom amenities.

Chris B — Google review

Such a beautiful place, it is a pity that majority of the Boardwalk is still closed due to heavy snow and falling trees - no mention of when / if it will ever reopen. Regardless there is a picnic area with toilets and a small portion of the Boardwalk that is still open where you can see the giant cedar trees.

D C — Google review

Picnic area is still open. Trail has been closed for over a year. Signs at trailhead say you'll get a $25,000 fine if caught on trail. So we didn't do it for safety reasons and that. They have a tree right out front that looks like it's going to fall over.

S N — Google review

The rebuild has finally been able to open 3/4 of the trail. A beautiful rainforest ecosystem in the middle of the mountains. We'll worth the stop.

Cengiz D — Google review

This is an okay trail. You can get through it in 5 minutes without stopping so it’s not very long. Some nice trees but Cathedral Grove on the island is way nicer and more worth it. This one supposedly is normally a $20 entry, which would not be worth it. For a free walk through it’s a nice rest stop area. There are bathrooms and not much parking.

Marta B — Google review

Beautiful place to stop and see some of the oldest trees in the area. Red cedars, hemlock trees, and the rain forest.A cedar walkway into the trees is a beautiful place to visit

Sally R — Google review

The giant cedars boardwalk is well maintained and beautiful. It's a short walk through the woods entirely on an above ground boardwalk. You can hear water running through small creeks; and they're covered by dense root systems of the cedars. Lots of places to sit down for a rest. Not tons of parking but there are no gates so if you go after hours, you can walk through without having to buy a park pass upon leaving.

Russell M — Google review

Amazing place to visit before to get to Revelstoke. It’s a very short walk when I visited on August 2024.

Marli 2 — Google review

It is a quick walk around the magnificent giant cedar trees.. however a part of the broadwalk is closed, so it is not a loop anymore. Out and back with 10-20mins. Quiet a few picnic tables too..

Nimz D — Google review

Quick 500m boardwalk. Today was a little wet and the boards were a little slippy, nothing too bad, just be mindful when humid/wet. Amazing place to get outta the car when driving by. Some interpretive signs to learn about the area, the devil's club is MASSIVE here! Good bathrooms and it is in a National park remember so a pass is required, most of the time, with a toll booth upon exit.

Granden B — Google review

Very nice stroll along the boardwalk amongst the trees. Very short and easy. Great for all ages.Plenty of parking - separate rv lot with plenty of parking.Went maybe :30 minutes here

Karson W — Google review

This place was a great pit stop to get off the highway and stretch the legs. There is of course a great board walk to hike through the Giant Cedar Trees and it smells great. The hike is very short can even do it in flip flops and easy for kids. There are very clean and nice bathrooms here with real toilets and running water also so thats a bonus! Also, it is a nice place to have your lunch if you packed one. Worth the stop!

Ken S — Google review

Path is short enough to be a good stretch. Beautiful trees. Some stairs but they are solid with hand rails. Also functions as a nice rest stop. Washrooms have running water. Many picnic tables. And away from the highway a bit so it's quieter.

Visitor's Center was closed due to COVID but there was a touchscreen outside that had solitaire installed. Cleared a game of classic spider solitaire in about 11 minutes, was quite a bit of fun. Great views too.

Kai H — Google review

It introduces the construction process and ecological environment of this place, which is of educational significance. There are also many local animal specimens, which is a comfortable environment.

Kate R — Google review

Extremely clean individual modern toilet (if you traveled on this highway and stopped by other restroom, then you know what I mean). It looks like a hotel room.

Quốc-Anh T — Google review

Make sure you take your park receipt or pass in with you so you can access the exhibits. The exhibits are good. The gift shop is very cute and styled like a trading post cabin. Good place for a quick stop, not a long stop.

Nice rest stop with stunning views and hiking trails. There's a little cafe restaurant and a visitor center with washrooms.

Lynn H — Google review

Really cool place with lots of interesting history to share. The staff was delightful and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to the lack of items in the gift shop. There was really nothing left in stock.

Michael L — Google review

First time stopping here since the new center opened. Huge building just for bathrooms, so clean. The gift shop and museum are in a separate building but neat to look around. Walk around outside to stretch your legs, read the signs, look at the displays, eat and of course just enjoy the views!

Paige M — Google review

Very disappointed that we can't offer this little discovery centre free access to visitors? We walk in expecting to have a visitor centre and info centre only to see you need a park pass or $11 to enter this small little display of bc history. I'm tired of seeing Canada and BC fall short in its ability to showcase our beauty without charging for every little stop. We visit the states regularly and the National Parks visitors centre's are huge, and free. Come on BC! Only positive? Their bathrooms were beautifully decorated with bird calls playing. Perhaps that is why they need to charge an entrance fee?#Rogerspass

Michelle D — Google review

Absolutely Breathtaking views of the Mountains. You can buy a pass and see the museum and stop in at the gift shop too. There is also a separate building with only washrooms, too.

Dena M — Google review

Nice place to stop and stretch the legs. Hiking in the area requires multiple people to avoid a fine due to bears in the area.

Outdoor Activities

Nestled between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offers a picturesque setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The resort boasts a wide range of activities including skiing, biking, and hiking trails along with various dining options. With 1,260 meters of vertical terrain, it features progressive inbounds skiing and is equipped with modern lifts servicing numerous runs, alpine bowls, and chutes spread over vast skiable terrain.

Amazing hill with a diversity of runs for everyone from beginner to expert. Lower mountain lifts are family/beginner friendly and have shorter lines. Upper mountain and gondola provide a mix of intermediate to advance/expert runs. A hill worth visiting! If you are there in the spring you may even see Boo the bear!

We loved this place! So much to do, gondola, hiking, mountain biking and just soaking in the beautiful views! Also seeing and learning about the rescue boo the bear on property. Guided hike to visit him and learn about grizzlies was awesome.

Judy F — Google review

we had the best morning taking part in the ranger experience with Boo! Our guide was super informative and so nice. she was more than happy to answer all questions and it looks like Boo has an amazing set up here, everyone truly cares about his well-being, he definitely has a great life here. After this, we took the gondola up the mountain and did some hiking, stunning trails, could maybe be better sign posted but we managed. Insane views and all staff were wonderful throughout the resort.

Sophie P — Google review

Did the grizzly experience and gondola to the top and hiked Terminator. Definitely going the AM 9:45 lift to the grizzly experience because the strategically feed Boo so you get a great view. Terminator was great. We did if with a 7 and 11 year old and it’s completely doable - just go slow.

Justin T — Google review

Great resort to stop by for a trip. I went in the summer and they had tons of activities to do. Well maintained and challenging mountain biking trail, hiking trails, grizzly bear, cable car and a via ferrata. I didn’t get a chance to go mountain biking while I was there but I could tell from the cable car that it would have been worth it if I had the time. I did have the chance to do the via ferrata which was fun and provided beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Benjamin P — Google review

Other than the hour fifteen minute wait for tickets (there was a DH race today) it's awesome! The bike trails are rough and technical. Some really good jumps to be found. Saw lots of blown up tires and wheels...

JubaL V — Google review

Arrived just after lunch & lineup seemed long but was quick. Everyone had a great day. Black diamond runs & sun shiny blue bird day. One person fell but the ski patrol took care of them. All in all, great time had.

Julie M — Google review

Went to see Boo the grizzly, really great experience. The ski chair lift up was fun too. We really liked how much information was provided by staff on Boo and the conversation of grizzly bears. Got to see Boo, would recommend the 10am slot for the best chance of seeing Boo.

Ruby K — Google review

Unbelievable snow conditions when we went. Great mountain for skiing. My personal favorite was the Fuez Bowl. There were a few flatter spots at the bottoms of the bowl, so snowboarders beware.

Joe M — Google review

Had the opportunity to visit in the summer and enjoyed the open patio restaurants, grab and go store and got to play and explore the playground and mini bike park. When we were there we had no problem parking and best of all the kiddo bike park is perfect for learning. The outer loop is well maintained but the inside has been neglected and needs some maintenance. Overall my 2 year old was thrilled to use the pump track.

Liz K — Google review

Always an exciting and fun challenge. The weather conditions were not great this year, but I was still happy to do T1 for the first time. The best run was in Rudi's bowl. The photo is the view of the hike to T1.

Amazing view from the top awsome stunning hiking trails and I even got to see a bear on the way up the gondola might just come back for skiing

Carter S — Google review

Love this place. If you're traveling with people that don't ski or board this resort allows people to ride to the top of the gondola and enjoy the breath-taking views and enjoy a stop at the dining restaurant at the top. Then the gondola will take you back down. The views while on the gondola are amazing. See things from a view you wouldn't normally see.

Nature & Parks

Nature & Wildlife Areas

The Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre in Golden BC offers an unforgettable experience with its captivating wolves. Visitors can join a 25-minute interpretive tour to learn about the wolves' role in restoring the ecosystem and the importance of wolf conservation. The knowledgeable staff also raise awareness about Canadian government practices, such as the use of poison in forests, and provide opportunities to support their cause by signing petitions.

Wonderful educational experience! When you get to the centre, you enter through their gift shop which has a selection of items locally made and related to the centre. Entry was $15 per adult, 0-3 free or $45 for a family of 4, cash only but an atm on site. Once you enter the premises you are met with different areas that host a variety of plant and animal bones and information such as fur, skulls, prints, droppings, etc. They also have another outdoor shop with knicknacks, shirts, hats, and more. You can then walk across to the see the Black family residence where the owners reside, 2 outhouses, and then the interpretative area and wolf enclosures. The staff were very friendly and then held an educational presentation on the 2 varieties of wolves in North America, their diet, habitat, behaviors, and family unit. They were careful to outline harmful stereotypes, myths, and misunderstandings that have led wolves to be seen negatively in media and culturally and how they aim to change those with education, and through centre's such as this. The wolves they had were brought in due to imprinting on humans at a young age, injury, and/or use for movies, etc. They also host a hike with a wolf for 16+ individuals if that is an interest.During our time the wolves were very sleepy as is normal. They told of of their enrichment, the pack, and the different areas they have access to as well as what they are fed and how. They rely heavily on donations, and are grateful to donations of meat, money, and I believe they mentioned roadkill within the area.Highly recommend checking it out! They had nice seating available, a kids play area, and tons of shade.

Thought i’d bring my son to learn more about wolves today; instead I was shocked at the conditions it is like a run down zoo. The wolves look terrible.,The website says not to call to book ahead as they run tours daily every 30 minutes. We arrived just after 1pm and missed that one so decided to wait for the 130pm ( there was no tour at 130pm) I tried to find an employee to ask and I was told they were short staffed and not planning on running another tour until 230pm. I had already paid for my son and I - we dove1.5 hours from Radium to visit and we already did a self guided tour but we were curious where these wolves came from? As well as other questions-The one employee who said no more tours until 2:30pm then said hesitantly that she will answer any questions that I had and then went on a rant about the mistreatment of wolves in the wild because the government allows them to get hunted. This place is a run down shanty and the wolves are very sad looking and dirty. Don’t support this place. They also have blasted on their website that no dogs are allowed- but they have dogs running the property freely barking and annoying/teasing the wolves. ( the dogs run free the wolves do not). Horrible experience I wish there was 0 stars to give.,

We've been there today. Staff was friendly, and was asking to anser questions. the wolves were very interesting and cute. Ticket's cost 15$ each. Which was okay I think. But the area was way smaller than expected, but still beautiful and lovely. The gift shop was nice and they had cool souvenirs, but very pricy.Overall worth a visit, but it's only 30-60 minutes stay.

Tim R — Google review

Highly recommend. We loved our visit to the wolf centre. It was educational, informative and interesting - the presentation is a must. Truth be told we went because out 6 year old boy wanted to see wolves but we all enjoyed our time at the centre. You'll need cash for entry and purchase of merchandise.

I have been coming to this sanctuary since I was very young. I have always loved this place. Shelley, the owner has dedicated her life to these wolves. Their conservation efforts and education has done worlds of effort in educating people on wolves. I highly recommend listening to the talk.I've had a look on the negative reviews and I can say, as someone who has been coming here for over a decade, that they are absolutely and completely absurd. This has peeved me off so much that I invite anyone curious about the debunking of these reviews, please read on:1. The enclosures are not small. You are not even able to see the full back of them as they extend so far into the property. The wolves are taken for hikes in nature consistently-- something you would know if you asked anyone who works there.2. Wolves sleep. It is completely RIDICULOUS to leave a negative review for a small business because the animal is sleeping. You go to any zoo and you will absolutely encounter an animal sleeping. If you are this concerned about this.... e-mail, call, ASK what the best time of day is to go. Wolves sleep up to 18 hours a day. You are coming to see an ANIMAL, NOT a circus performance.3. To anyone questioning the ethics and morals.. questioning the state of the wolves health... I invite you to talk to the owner who has worked their for DECADES. She may have a bit more insight on the wolves than what you assumed and judged from your 10 minutes in the sanctuary. This sanctuary invites you to slow down, listen and learn... if you are not willing to do that, this is not the place for you.

Bailey S — Google review

Honestly felt like a waste of money. We only stayed there for give or take 5 minutes because the wolves were sleeping. We just stood around and read some information on our own. When buying the tickets the front desk lady sounded all excited and made it sound like it will be a very “ interactive ‘ and interesting visit. When we entered the area after there was basically no interaction on any sort nor any park staff and not the wolves as they were sleeping. It’s definitely a false advertisement. When we asked the front desk staff about the sleeping wolves , another staff who was standing there just went casually “ well wolves sleep after eating and they sleep for 18hours day “ she said “ we can answer your questions ! This is what really made me feel that this is something that they are used to yet they don’t consider informing customers about it. There isn’t any interaction at all. Very misleading !I’m sorry I didn’t pay $30 to hear you telling me that they sleep for 18 hours and that they will answer questions. These things should be mentioned when you are asking for the payment. I think they should indicate about wolves sleeping , as this is a very normal thing so why be so misleading to the general public. Will not recommend anyone to go here.

I just had the pleasure to take a trip to beautiful Golden BC and visit the Northern Lights Wolf Center. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions (no matter how silly) I was lucky enough to go on a Wolf Walk with the lovely Flora (wolf) I got to see her walking around off leash in a natural environment. Lots of great photo opportunities and got to pose with her in a few! The ladies hosting the walk were fantastic and knew their stuff when it came to the wolf pack. I can definitely say I will be back to see the pack again!

In 2019, a chance moment led me to discover the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre near Golden, BC. 5 years later, I was finally able to return for a wolf walk, and I will never forget the experience. To be able to connect to a wolf personally while walking through the woods was really a dream come true. I have hundreds of photos to cherish forever!A huge heartfelt thank you to Shelley, Grant and the staff for being so wonderful, and of course to the beautiful Flora for allowing me to enter into her space. She was absolutely mesmerizing! 😊✨🐺

My daughter really really wanted to go here on our road trip. Firstly we stayed in Winston Hotel, Kicking Lodge that really made the few days and the wolf experience was really interesting and we all learnt a lot. Most informative and interesting. If we had planned better we would have known about the wolf walks and would have gone on one.

My brother and I went for a walk with the wolves with Shelley and Claire! What a wonderful experience. It was amazing to watch Flora walk around sniffing and interacting in her natural habitat. The wolf centre itself is also really well organized with lots of cool displays - you can tell it’s a labour of love.Highly recommend !

What an unforgettable experience! Wolves are truly magnificent. They have such captivating eyes and a powerful presence! I learned so much during the 25-minute interpretive tour. Wolves helped restore the ecosystem in Yellowstone, proving the importance of wolf conservation. Staff are very passionate and knowledgeable! They bring awareness about our Canadian government and its use of poison in our forests.Sign the petition to help eliminate the use of poisons as a pesticide in our forests. Ban Compound 1080 Poison! https://www.wehowl.ca/Also, I recommend browsing their giftshop. They have some really beautiful artwork here!

My husband and I stopped in during our visit to Golden and had a lovely time. We were able to observe the wolves which was pretty neat and we listened to a very informative presentation about the important role these animals play in our ecosystem. It's clear they are very passionate in educating people about the gentle and misunderstood grey wolves of Canada. I would recommend stopping in for something a little different and fun. I plan to return one day and book a 'wolf walk.'

An unforgettable experience! It was a privilege to see these beautiful wolves up close. The center itself is small and humble, and their six resident wolves are very loved and beautifully cared for, with large enclosures for them to roam after hours. The staff are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. For $15 it is absolutely worth the price and the short drive from the highway. I highly recommend visiting and supporting this wonderful sanctuary and their important work.

We got educated by a young girl who explained a lot of history to us about the wolves and how they impact our ecosystems, how we helped out yellowstone and how our government is killing wolves here in Canada with a harmful poison. Very sad. We were expecting to see the wolves moving around and maybe more wolves but there’s only 6 and we only seen 4. 3 were sleeping while we were there. You could book a tour with the wolf walking with you in the forest for a few hours that’s what we wanted to do originally but you have to book far enough in advance to get a good time slot unfortunately didn’t add up with our trip time so we went to check it out anyways and it was a bit of a let down as most of them were sleeping and couldn’t see them all. Small space can’t walk around the cages coated us 30$ it was nice to see the wolves just would’ve been cooler to see them moving around and if we could walk around more to check them out. Not much to do there.

Had a great time at the Wolf Sanctuary. Was so cool to be up close to these beautiful and huge predators. The staff did a great job explaining habits and characteristics of wolves and why these wolves need to be kept in captivity for their wellbeing. It was cool learning about how important wolves are to the greater ecosystem. They also explained why wolf populations are in danger right now. Definitely recommend if you are in the Golden area.

I was really looking forward to visiting this wolf sanctuary, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The business only accepts cash. While they do have an ATM on site, it was out of order when we arrived. After a long drive, we found ourselves unable to pay and were offered no alternative solutions, which was incredibly frustrating. If you're planning to visit, make sure you bring cash, because you can’t rely on the ATM. It's a real shame that our trip was ruined over something that could easily be fixed by providing more payment options or at least warning visitors ahead of time. I hope they improve this for future guests, as the wolves seem amazing, but we never got the chance to see them.

Benjamin B — Google review

Our visit to the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre was nothing short of magical. We arrived right at opening, just as the wolves were waking up and starting to howl. The sound was mesmerizing and added a special touch to our experience. We stayed for the presentation, which was really informative. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, providing valuable insights into the lives and behaviors of the wolves. The centre offers an incredible opportunity to see these magnificent creatures up close in a natural and respectful environment. My 16-year-old son also recommends this to all his friends. Overall, this was an amazing experience that we would highly recommend to anyone. It’s a unique and unforgettable way to connect with nature and learn about these beautiful animals.

Bridge

Sights & Landmarks

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is a charming covered timber-frame bridge that spans the picturesque Kicking Horse River. Situated near Spirit Square's vibrant flower gardens, this 46-meter-long bridge offers stunning views of the turquoise waters below. It holds the distinction of being Canada's longest freestanding timber frame bridge.

This is a very beautiful area that has awesome flowers & plants strategically places around the bridge. I took many photos in that area! They also have clean bathrooms nearby 😁

Enjoyed my weekend with my friend in September 2021.Nice bridge over looking the river. We stopped here to find some geocaches before we stopped for dinner and drinks.

Steen S — Google review

It's a pretty amazing covered wooden timber bridge going over the historic river. Surrounding garden is nice too. Restaurant cafe close by with the park make it a good place to have lunch and take a stroll along the pathway along the river. Worth a stop, but only if you are already in the area.

Cory S — Google review

My visit to the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge in Golden was a highlight of my time in the area. As I approached the bridge, I was immediately struck by its striking timber frame design, which seamlessly blended with the rugged mountain scenery surrounding it.Walking across the bridge provided a truly unique perspective, allowing me to gaze out over the rushing Kicking Horse River below. The views in every direction were simply breathtaking - from the snow-capped peaks in the distance to the charming downtown of Golden just steps awayWhat made the experience even more enjoyable was the lively atmosphere around the bridge. I was able to easily find free parking nearby, and then spent time exploring the shops, restaurants, and walking paths that lined the riverfront. The Riverhouse Tavern, in particular, offered the perfect spot to grab a bite and a drink while admiring the bridge. As the sun began to set, the bridge took on a magical quality, with gentle lighting illuminating its elegant structure. It was the perfect place to pause, take in the scenery, and soak up the peaceful ambiance of this picturesque mountain town.Overall, the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is a must-see attraction that seamlessly blends natural beauty, architectural interest, and convenient amenities. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Golden.

The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is an architectural masterpiece that effortlessly blends beauty, function, and nature. Spanning the mighty Kicking Horse River, the bridge's striking silhouette stands tall, seemingly suspended in mid-air, connecting two sides of Golden. Its sleek lines and graceful curves evoke a sense of elegance, while its sturdy construction inspires confidence in its safety.

Eric L — Google review

Lovely bridge. A beautiful bridge. May just be the best bridge you ever cross. You think you could make a better bridge? Don't take this bridge for granted. You couldn't ask for a better bridge. If you say you found a better bridge I'd know you're lying. Stop lying to me and yourself. Go write that book you always wanted to. Go travel the world. Go apologize to a loved one. Go searching for love. This is what the bridge commands. The King of bridges.

Dom E — Google review

An amazing spot in Golden, BC! The Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge is the longest freestanding timber frame bridge in Canada, and it’s a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The bridge offers stunning views of the Kicking Horse River, and you can really appreciate the rushing waters below. It’s a perfect place for a leisurely stroll or to take some great photos. The surrounding area is charming, with lovely walking trails and picnic spots nearby. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area—it's a wonderful mix of nature and impressive engineering!

Akhil J — Google review

Nice river walk and very scenic.

S M — Google review

Known as the longest free standing timber frame bridge in Canada. The name tells you the hard work the man placed in for it to be shared and to enjoy. Take a little walk round the two paths and settle down for a drink or bites by the side of the bridge will let you feel the greatness of the area. Recommended place for kids too

Garry N — Google review

Top place to see an amazing wooden structure. It’s history is awesome,

Impressive all wooden pedestrian bridge over beautiful Kicking Horse River with beautiful views of the stunning blue water and surroundings. We enjoyed a nice walk along the river on both banks. Well lit with garbage receptacles and benches all along the river.

A very pretty wooden covered bridge that has turned into an "anchor" to downtown Golden.

In the heart of Golden, B.C. is this gorgeous covered bridge built over Kicking Horse River. This tranquil and friendly town is cozily nestled between the mountain ranges that run North and South of it. The town has plenty of amenities and the locals are very friendly.

Beautiful bridge. Nice walking paths along the river.

Mat K — Google review

kicking horse pedestrian bridge was worth checking out while staying in golden for something to do. The colour of the water is so beautiful and so is the bridge! Doesn’t take long to check out. can sit on picnic tables and benches to relax and listen to the sound of the river very relaxing. Restaurants all around to go out for food or drinks. Nice atmosphere

Holly D — Google review

Beautiful, scenic spot for a walk.

Waseem K — Google review

It was extremely difficult to access this bridge via Apple Car Play - the road recommended is under construction and inaccessible to vehicles. We abandoned our car and walked because we could SEE the bridge but couldn't figure out how to drive there. Bridge itself is beautiful and the river is fast moving and looks icy green.

Really beautiful waterfall. The hike is easy, just the last meters are quite steep. Down at the waterfall the stones you walk on could be also wet. Mind your steps! In the summer/autumn saison there is the possibility to get to on of the islands in front to take amazing photos.

Lisa S — Google review

No doubt one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Canada! Powerfull! Expect 30mins walk from parking lot.

Ji?? V — Google review

Amazing falls just off the highway, if you have an hour to spare, the hike is totally worth it.

Daniel A — Google review

This was a lovely hike. Super simple hike through the woods with a lovely reward of a really beautiful falls that you can get nice and close to. Some elevation ups and downs as you get close to and come away from the falls but worth it.

Danielle G — Google review

Beautiful hike. We found the trail quite easy. Did it with our 6 and 8 year old. Felt good to go close to the falls on a hot day.

Mike K — Google review

Wonderful fall. 2.5 km one way trail with incline and decline of off road however it was worth the hard work, you got the best view of waterfalls 3 times from front view, top view, side view… Please take clothes and towels with you if you want to have a fun under the fall.

Divyesh S — Google review

Mostly easy and muddy walk, towards end of the trail will have a steeper downhill walk to bottom of the fall, better view and recommend to have a look

Eric Y — Google review

Do maps here instead of “wapta falls” to get to the correct location. Parking here is small but free. This was an easy 2km walk to reach the top of the falls before you can take a short descent down to the base of the waterfalls. Very beautiful and an adventurous time!So bring bug spray / mosquito repellent as there are quite a few mosquitoes at the start of the trail.

Celine — Google review

Easy trail with amazing views. Around 5 km took a round trip.

Anastasiia K — Google review

Nice waterfall but trail can be a little challenging. Mostly level with some elevation changes, but if it's been raining can be quite muddy.

Teresa B — Google review

Lovely hike!Quiet steep near the falls, but well worth the effort

Pretty nice if you are anway in the area but would not come just for this. About 20-30 min walk one way, pretty steep and slippery in tge second half

Yoho National Park of Canada, aptly named to express awe and wonder, is nestled in the western slopes of the Canadian Rockies. It's a haven for hikers with its jagged mountain peaks, numerous waterfalls, massive glaciers, and towering rock walls. The park offers a variety of hiking experiences, from short treks to rewarding destinations like Wapta Falls and easy strolls around Emerald Lake to multi-day adventures such as the scenic hike to Twin Falls along the Yoho River.

The most instagrammed location in Canada. Stunning scenery. Advise for moraine lake you need to use shuttle bus service. You won’t get parked. Car park fills up at 2 am for the sunrise.

Our visit to Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park was a memorable experience, even with the hazy weather. Just before we parked, we had an incredible encounter with a bear family, which set the tone for the day—wild and awe-inspiring.The lake itself was stunning, with cold, fresh water flowing down from the mountain top. We couldn’t resist soaking our feet in it for a while, feeling the refreshing chill that only nature can provide. The trail around the lake was excellent, offering beautiful views and a peaceful walk that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the serene surroundings. One of the highlights was the Natural Bridge, a fascinating site that felt like an open-air lesson in ecological history. The way the river had carved its path through the rock over time was truly awe-inspiring.Overall, Emerald Lake offered a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquil adventure, making it a must-visit spot in Yoho National Park.

“I recently visited the mountains, and it was an unforgettable experience! The scenery was breathtaking, with panoramic views that took my breath away. The crisp mountain air and serene environment provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether hiking or simply enjoying the vistas, every moment was incredibly refreshing. The beauty of nature here is truly unparalleled – a must-visit for anyone looking to reconnect with the great outdoors!”

The emerald lake was picture perfect place to visit! Emerald green lake, green tree, well-maintained and pretty place. The cafe is cute. The service was nice. I went in with my family while it was raining hard outside (which doesn’t impact the beauty of the lake). Apparently, my family didn’t want anything since ut’s close to the dinner time but the server was very nice and still took a good care of us despite we only order one cocktail—rose sangria which was delicious. I would recommend this place for anyone.

Komson C — Google review

Yoho National Park is a national park in Canada. It is located within the Rocky Mountains along the western slope of the Continental Divide of the Americas in southeastern British Columbia. The park is bordered by Kootenay National Park to the south and Banff National Park to the east in Alberta. This park is definitely worth visiting. We traveled from Vancouver and the journey was beautiful. The park itself was stunning, with lots of trees and snow-covered mountains. The view was simply amazing.

Patrick M — Google review

One of the absolute best national parks! Emerald Lake with its highly accessible, indescribable beauty. Takkakaw Falls, Natural Bridge…just couldn’t be better. Slightly less crowded than neighboring Banff, but still crowded at popular spots in the summer.

Kent 1 — Google review

A beautiful area, but a little disappointed that they are closed by October when neighboring parks like Kootenay, Banff, and Jasper are still open. Couldn't do any of the hikes we planned because certain roads were closed. Bummer.

Ping Z — Google review

Spectacular views , great trails and had so much fun having backcountry camping here!

Ellie M — Google review

The park was beautiful… at least the bits we could see! Went at the end of May and almost lot of the major attractions were still closed. This seemed unnecessary given the lack of snow at this time of year. Lake O’Hara busses services weren’t running yet and would have had to walk 11km each way to see it. Takakkaw falls were closed entirely. Only really got to see emerald lake which was super busy. I’m sure it would have been a beautiful 5-star park had we been able to see some of it.

Alex G — Google review

Amazing scenery at this national Park. Dog friendly trails which is great. Parking is limited at Emerald Lake so get there before or after lunch bus crowds. Nature's bridge is fantastic, small parking lot though

Kango A — Google review

One of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Our top hikes in the park were: Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, Sherbrooke Lake. We also did Paget lookout and Laughing Falls they were okay but wouldn’t do them again.

Karson W — Google review

So much to see and do in any season! Beautiful area!

Eva — Google review

We went here last October 2023 and it wasn’t that crowded. The weather that time was cold but bearable. Although I saw some people swam in the lake!! Not sure if the water was cold too 🤣Now I know why a lot of people are in awe of this place. No words can express how beautiful this place is!! A paradise indeed. Please add this to your bucket list!!

An absolutely gorgeous National Park that you should visit. Waterfalls, glaciers, and wildlife are plenty. Plus it's nowhere near as crowded as Banff.

One of the best place to visit weather was very nice cloudy cold and rainy right in mountains

Natural Bridge Lower Falls is a stunning natural attraction with a picturesque waterfall featuring turquoise glacial water. The area offers free parking, although it can get crowded in the summer. Visitors can explore the unmarked trail and enjoy picnic spots along the river. However, caution is advised due to slippery rocks and strong water currents. Despite some concrete walkways, it remains a beautiful spot for nature lovers to visit and take in the breathtaking scenery.

A beautiful spot with free parking (although also limited). There are outhouse washrooms available here. In the summer time, this spot can get very packed. There is a trail here but unmarked. Otherwise it's accessible to get to the bridge to view the natural bridge. Strong water currents here and a beautiful mineral blue.

CY S — Google review

Super easy activity to check off your list, and a great way to experience the beautiful water and scenery of the park! From the parking lot, you can see the river, and can cross a man made bridge to better views, and there's room to explore around the top and bottom of the waterfall. The top is very interesting, as water crashes under the Natural Bridge from several angles. Below the falls, lots of fun rocks and good views of the mountains.

Caleb L — Google review

Beautiful views of the natural bridge and easy hiking trail to where the three rivers converge. It was impressive to see the different colors of the rivers meeting and flowing together.

Mary P — Google review

Beautiful scenic spot to see the natural bridge and the gush of water flowing across. Its very close to parking lot and does not require much of hiking. Quick stop to take a few pics.

This location is worth a quick stop. The river in this place is like milk diluted with water. The terrain and geology are impressive.

Oleksandr M — Google review

Tremendous place to visit. And so easy, right off the road to Emerald Lake. Porta-WCs on the right. Ample gratis parking. Odd tour bus shows up and it gets crowded; otherwise almost peaceful. Concrete walk bridge to see the falls, the rock, the raging blue glacial water. Several elevated viewpoints in nearby forest. Rocks are smooth and slippery so don't be stupid.

Steven W — Google review

Mesmerizing - highly recommend stopping by and finding a place to sit in quiet and just be present!

Dhara P — Google review

Beautiful views and natural rock formations. The water is the same blue as most lakes along the Icefields Parkway. Definitely worth the slight detour.(Pictures from early Oct 2023)

Worth to stop I would recommend!!What a natural beauty scenery with beautiful rock formations and crystal clear water ,couldn’t get enough of the view

PRIM ( — Google review

The natural bridge is nice. But walk down along the river. There is a small trail. You will find a sensational waterfall and from water washed stones. Be careful. Slippery and the water goes quick down. Quite a deep canyon

Ulrich G — Google review

We have driven by the natural bridge sign on the highway for years. We stopped this year on our way to emerald lake. What a beautiful scene. Would recommend to stop on the way to emerald lake. Would have loved to walk around more as it looks like there would be some good picnic spots. Not sure if I would seek out this stop specifically but it’s a good take to take a break or stop on our way up the mountain.

Bodies of Water

Emerald Lake, located in Yoho National Park, is a stunning natural wonder with its clear green waters reflecting the surrounding mountains. The lake offers a serene atmosphere and features a hiking trail as well as a boathouse for canoe rentals. Surrounded by western hemlocks, red cedars, white pines, and yews, this secluded spot is nestled amidst the President Range mountains including Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain.

The most peaceful place I have visited in my life. I’d go as far as saying that my experience at this place was therapeutic and psychedelic. Def don’t miss this spot. No matter what!

Rahgozar — Google review

Went during afternoon after rain so finding parking was easy. Sky cleared up so was able to hike around the lake. Beautiful views and stop point.

K L — Google review

Although an amazing place with world class scenery, the number of visitors was overwhelming. Recommended to visit early in the morning. The parking lot is very small. Expect to park along the road and walk up to the lake side.

S. R — Google review

You may need to park on the road. We walked clockwise round the lake. There are a lot of benches where you can sit watching the hired canoes and eat a picnic as we did.A word of caution that the second half is quite muddy, wet and less easy. If you’re in light shoes, and clothes I would retrace my steps. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!Well worth the walk though.

David T — Google review

This place is unreal! Came here late October. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is just that the toilet is so bad!😶‍🌫️🫣🤣 parking may be difficult to find too. We walked around the lake and along the way there were a bunch of “small captions” telling us the history of the lake and avalanches. The road around the lake is pretty flat, but there were definitely some parts that are quite challenging with tree roots above the ground. It is around 5k around the lake 😀 it can get pretty muddy, ao be ready with good shoes!

Esther — Google review

Emerald Lake is absolutely stunning - when we arrived, I couldn't believe how beautiful the area was - highly recommend a visit!

Emily — Google review

Stunning view during a clear sunny day. Easy walk around the lake with great views, could be muddy during dry season. Although it is not cheap but I would recommend hiring a canoe and floating on the lake for an hour! I recommend arriving early, parking is filling up quickly. Lots of people in line for canoes.

Valeriy K — Google review

Absolutely stunning. The total distance of circle-round trail is about 5km. I would recommend to start from right trail first, otherwise there will be an uphill hike at the end if you start from the left side.

Nook N — Google review

A very popular and tranquil lake with many hikes avaliable. We lucked out with car park right at the lake, but by the time we left at midday, the parking was about 1km out from the entrance, so be prepared and come early.Lots of picnic table, some parts of the walk around the lake is pram friendly. The loop around the emerald lake is nice and pretty flat, the west side of the loop can be very muddy.

Nancy — Google review

One of the most beautiful lakes I've seen. I visited it on a fairly gloomy day, I can imagine the color of the water on a sunny day. You can hike around the lake (4 miles approximately), there are muddy trails, so wear waterproof shoes. Visit Emerald basin and Hamilton lake too, take a canoe ride or sit at the charming restaurant by the water.

Zsuzsanna S — Google review

Emerald Lake is incredible. Just as brilliant and less crowded than Lake Louise. We enjoyed the easy walk around the lake on paved pathway.Came upon a mama black bear & her two cubs.Lots of people canoeing ($100 per hour)The cafe had a great outdoor deck. There is also a walk up window for quick grab-n-go. Take it to the lakeside for a picnic.

T P — Google review

It is simply a fairyland. When I went there in the morning, the lake was shrouded in mist and surrounded by mountains. The scenery was quite poetic. Nine in the morning is the best time to visit this hidden gem😉

Elaine L — Google review

Beautiful view… Went around the lake on the trail. Has some good picture spot along the trail. There is a lodge available there as well.Visited on a Saturday and it was busyyyy. It wasn’t a long weekend but a lot of people were there on Saturday. Overall it was a beautiful drive down to the lake.

Debby D — Google review

Beutiful lake with a pleasent walk around it offering different views of the lake.We did the Emerald lake loop, an easy 5.3 km flat path around the lake. Towards the end, the path leads through a moss covered pine forest.A bit muddy in October but it was still fun

Amir E — Google review

Saw a mama bear and her 2 cubs across the lake at the top of the clearing along the tree line. Tried to zoom in, but the video isn’t super clear. The people walking along the trail below where the bears were seemed unfazed and hopefully had bear spray with them.Went on a Friday at the end of May in the late afternoon and was able to get a parking spot but we saw loads of cars and RVs parked along the road leading there, so I imagine it must be difficult during the summer. Lots of people but still beautiful- much more quiet on the trail around the lake.

Jennifer C — Google review

Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park is truly a gem, even from the parking lot, which is picturesque in its own right. The lake, about half the size of Lake Louise, is surrounded by modest peaks that exude a comforting presence. The gentle sunlight that day added a touch of warmth to the lake's beauty, making the experience even more intimate. My son and I set out on the trail that circles Emerald Lake. Along the way, we passed through areas where a massive avalanche had cleared the slopes of large trees. In their place, the autumn hues of grasses and small shrubs thrived in harmonious balance. The trail around the lake offered a serene and leisurely experience. Every detail, from the leaves on the trees to the stumps of fallen giants, and the delicate ripples on the lake, felt precious. While my son and I weren’t particularly interested in kayaking or canoeing, tourists from China and Southeast Asia seemed fascinated, their joyful shouts echoing across the water as they paddled with their families. To truly connect with nature, you must immerse yourself in it. To understand a forest, you need to venture deep within it; to feel a river, you should trace it to its source and scoop up its water with your hands; and to embrace a mountain, you need the strength to climb as high as your endurance allows. Nature reveals itself to you in proportion to your efforts. The Canadian Rockies, with their vastness and ever-changing landscapes, can be overwhelming from a distance. But as you step inside, explore, and touch the land, the intricate harmony of shapes and colors, the freshness, and the vitality of the ecosystem become increasingly familiar and dear.As the turquoise waters of Emerald Lake turned transparent in the sunlight, and the warmth touched my cheeks, I was enveloped in a gentle sense of happiness. It made me want nothing more than to sit on a patio somewhere, sip a beer, and drift into memories—no other desires seemed to arise.Unexpectedly, we encountered a vast field of boulders on the trail. As we studied the mountain slopes and the direction of the glacial flow, it became clear why this stony terrain existed. Avalanche! In the Canadian Rockies, you often see signs warning of avalanches. The very spot we were walking on had once been buried under a massive snow slide. The ancient trees, likely buried under snow for years, had survived as remnants in this boulder-strewn landscape, with glacial streams meandering through the stones. One of the defining features of the Rockies is the absence of forests on some slopes and peaks, creating bands that resemble ski slopes—these are the scars left by avalanches. The Emerald Lake trail we hiked today was the perfect way to fully experience the essence of autumn in the Rockies, a truly unforgettable trail with my son.

Absolutely amazing views. Less crowded than other lakes and totally different atmosphere and stunning views. Rafting is excellent experience in crystal clear water. The good thing is enough parking space.

Chirag D — Google review

Get here early as parking is limited. If the lit is full, you can park along the roadside for a bit. In summer, best to take a bus tour in. Views are stunning. The trail around the lake is either paved or hard packed gravel. The last 2 km is through the bush, rocks and roots, so not accessible. There are a few open areas to enjoy the view before ending in the lodge area. There is a cafe but have never eaten there.

Shelley — Google review

This place is a must to visit if you are in Banff . It is similar to lake Louise but with less crowd. Long weekends might get busier here and sometimes the road gets closed due to lack of parking spots. The views are amazing and there are trails all around the lake . If you are planning to conoe, it is 100 for a group of 3-4 and closes at 4:45 PM . There are a lot of places around the lake where you can sit and have your food . A lot of people go swimming in the lake . Overall a nice experience visiting this place .

Vivek K — Google review

Beautiful place. A must see if you have time. Great walking trail around the lake, takes about 2 hours

Tami S — Google review

This was my second trip to Emerald Lake over the years and would argue that this is one of the most beautiful places in Canada 🇨🇦 I got there early and did the loop trail around the lake. Beat the crowds and had solitude and an amazing walk around the lake. The trail to lodge does get a bit muddy - but with proper footwear it is no problem. Would love to see this later in the fall. I am sure it is epic!

Bodies of Water

Peyto Lake is a stunning glacier-fed lake located in a picturesque valley, renowned for its vibrant turquoise waters. Situated along the Icefields Parkway, it offers breathtaking views and ample photo opportunities. The best spot to capture its beauty is from Bow Summit, the highest point on the parkway, although it can get crowded during peak times. For a more secluded experience, take one of the trails leading up the mountain from Bow Summit car park.

Insanely beautiful. The crowds were not too bad at late morning. The hike up to Bow Summit Lookout is not easy but worth the view. Many hikers spotted bears along this trails so have a bear spray ready and make lots of noise while walking.

Natali C — Google review

Peyto lake viewpoint was beautiful. The hike would’ve been relatively easy if it were in the summer. We went late October and the hike up and down was very slippery. A bunch of people slipped/decided to slid down😂 it was definitely an experience. I wouldn’t recommend going up if you’re afraid of falling.

Esther — Google review

I went to Peyto Lake because I could not find a parking spot at Lake Louise and we decided to go for a trip to Jasper and on the way there we saw this beautiful lake just less than an hour from Lake Louise. It took us about half an hour walking up on the pavement to see the view point. It’s built for wheelchairs. Parking is easy to find and it’s not busy at all. The pictures I took are no filter at around 8.45 am.

Inten U — Google review

Ita a beautiful lake. Not many people know. Must visit before sunrise to see it there. Mere 15 minutes simplest hikes of all. View is just mesmerizing. Parking area is small so must come early to secure a spot.

Aarti J — Google review

It's easy to walk to the viewpoint. Many tourists come here. Beautiful routes and beautiful scenery.

Wilasinee ( — Google review

The trek to the little deck that overlooks the Lake is a cake walk. If you decide to go further it really becomes a treacherous hike to try and overlook bow lake. It was June 20th and we were knee deep in snow uphill. With that being said it was one of the funnest hikes we had, we were laughing along the way because we all kept slipping and falling. I'd recommend it if you are up for the challenge.

Doug F — Google review

It's a must-see. Unique shape we're there around 4pm. The colour is still pretty. There are many wild mushrooms beside trail.

金玫Barrie J — Google review

Enjoyed my day here. Walked to both ends of the lake on and the high view points. The main viewpoint was mobbed but the others were not. Beautiful lake.

Greg A — Google review

Very beautiful and busy place. We came during the weekday but that was still busy. The lake is gorgeous though. Very beautiful views we saw on the way there. It’s really worth to see!

Таня Ч — Google review

Gorgeous water and scenery. The walk up is quite easy, though I wouldn’t recommend wheel chair use as some others have mentioned without assessing the path first, as it can get quite steep! We even had some snow which made the path a little bit slippery. Definitely a must visit!

Carley F — Google review

This place isn't real. It exists in a parallel dimension between Earth and Middle Earth (a Lord of the Rings reference). There are no words to communicate how this place made me feel. I have never felt closer to Mother Earth, so humbled, but also so in tune with the present moment. You definitely have to check it out!

Rahgozar — Google review

Very beautiful lake with an observation spot on top so you can take in the unusual shape of it and see its deep turquoise water in full colour. Make sure the trail is open as it closes for winter season.

Kate K — Google review

The walk to the observation deck overlooking the lake was paved and inclines gently, and it was not too long. Everyone in our group managed to walk up even though some were not physically inclined. Wonderful views, the blue colour of the lake was one of the bluest I’ve ever seen in my life! It was quite windy up there though. Some information on why the lake was so blue was also provided. Parking wasn’t too hard as we went a bit later in the evening on a windy and slightly rainy day.

M J — Google review

A very popular stop on the icefield parkway. It is indeed a nice lookout. An easy walk to the lookout. The stroll in was actually very pretty. Peyto lake is beautiful. The colour so bright. There was another walk that we were recommended to go to but would take more time which we didn’t have. Overall a worthy stop.

Sharon T — Google review

Nice little trail. All the lakes seem pretty similar. Same pretty turquoise color water. It's worth the trail to see such breathtaking views. Seems like a developing point of attraction.

Divya S — Google review

A short and pram friendly hike to get you to the viewing platform. Beautiful deep blue color of lake in the morning. Yes, it's another very popular place so be prepared to come early or last thing of the day.

Nancy — Google review

Hands down the most amazing colour I have ever seen for a lake, better than Lake Louise! You have to include this lake as a stop, you will not be disappointed. (Note my photos have not been edited!)

Lugar de increíble belleza… es un entorno en el que aún se puede ver muchas nieve ❄️ alrededor (mi visita fue a principios de Junio), llegar y ver este lago de azul turquesa te deja sin palabras! Impresionante! 🤩(Translated by Google)Place of incredible beauty... it is an environment where you can still see a lot of snow ❄️ around (my visit was at the beginning of June), arriving and seeing this turquoise blue lake leaves you speechless! Awesome! 🤩

So amazing beautiful lake!! The trail to panoramic was a bit tricky with snow and mud but well worth it!! More beautiful then Lake Louise!!

Kelley B — Google review

Beautiful lake, the turquoise color of the lake is a treat for the eyes. Wolf head shape of the lake is truly mesmerizing.

Aravind S — Google review

Absolutely stunning! There is a slight 10-15mins hike to the first lookout that overlooks the lake. You definitely should add this to your stop, parking is free unlike lake Louise.

Wonderful little shop with everything from local vendors to exotic foods and condiments from abroad. Also a great selection of wines from B.C. and elsewhere. Morley is your host and serves up great coffee specialties and fresh snacks. Well worth the time to stop by and check it out if you are in the area.

Jim K — Google review

Absolutely fantastic local store that has an eclectic menagerie of assortments and a great wine selection. Unfortunately the owner was an incredibly rude gentleman and followed me throughout the store with his cat in-hand asking me to not take pictures, rushing my selections, and overall making my shopping trip unpleasant. I hope no one else has this experience. I still recommend stopping by and enjoying this gem for the goods!

Kayla S — Google review

We’re so lucky to have such an incredibly curated and locally sourced food store in the valley. I stop here every time I’m going by to stock up on my favourites, like pies, beeswax for candles, mead, specialty sauces and jams, and game jerky. The owners are always helpful and carefully choose everything they sell. To rate this small family business poorly because they don’t provide bathrooms as some sort of public service to the thousands of drivers who pass through this valley while kicking horse canyon is closed for construction is unfortunate at best and grossly entitled at worst. There’s provincial rest stops five mins in either direction.

Angie Q — Google review

What a unique collection of quality foods and goods locally sourced. As visitors, Morley the owner, took great interest in our story, shared great conversation and made us feel so very welcome. We never encountered anyone remotely unfriendly as mentioned in other reviews. We are super glad we made the effort to stop in and support this establishment!

Matthew J — Google review

The store was ok. Nice selection. Not family friendly as per the gentleman behind the counter they are an “adult gourmet store” as such we took our young children outside to wait for other members of our family. He didn’t seem impressed with the big group we were or the purchases we made. Have never had someone make me feel like I wasn’t purchasing enough…. That was not pleasant.

Kristyn T — Google review

The honey products are great we try to go there yearly, but they need to update their website for the products they don't have. Wasted my time going when one of the products I wanted they haven't had for a long time (I was told by staff ). The honey garlic salsa is also really good.

Hazel H — Google review

Alright, this is tough. I wish I could rate service, and then product. I've been coming here for many years. Every single year is the same...the owner is just not friendly. I assume it's him at least. I get that everyone has a story, a personality, but...when you own or manage a store you've got to put that happy face on. Today the gentleman owner would not give some hikers some spare plastic wrap for their sandwiches. They have been buying coffees there daily from him, and simply ran out/forgot and it was needed for their hiking. I mean, we spent $250 I'm sure just our purchase alone would cover this. I like to see helpful individuals, and based on other reviews and personal experience I know this isn't just an "off day". Every year that I've come I've tried to engage in happy conversation and am met with coldness. Why have a storefront? Or work it? The lady working today was so pleasant it was a nice change, so let her run it. The products are great though folks. Neat variety and with health in mind. I do hope the owner will make some personal changes. I won't hold my breathe since the negative reviews have been coming in, and they aren't commenting or changing. If another local competitor pops up, watch out. Service is what people truly pay for.

Karissa N — Google review

What a nice little market and the friendliest staff. I was excited to get some local honey and there were lots of choices including delicious creamed honey blends.

Missy B — Google review

Worst pies I've ever had. The Saskatoon berry one was old, wrinkled berries and the strawberry rhubarb had major problems with the dough, after 1 hour 5 minutes of cooking it didn't turn brown and filling was basically soup. Would not recommend

Cole N — Google review

Staff made us feel safe and respected for wearing our masks. Great selection of honey, pastries, meals and artwork. But the best part was a live and working beehive on display in the store.

Mike T — Google review

The owner is a crusty guy who is tough to like, he had some offensive things to say about my family as they left and I was still in the store. Skip this place and go to a farmer’s market.

Rob G — Google review

Great Cappuccino, great london fog and two great paninis. So glad that we stopped here. There are so many local products like meat and more. Great market to support!

Nils I — Google review

Myiriam L — Google review

Great place! I usually stop in once every few weeks when I'm looking to treat myself. Have tried a variety of things from here and it's all been great. Can buy local beef, honey, and lots of other good things. Really like the Shuswap ciders too.

Nick A — Google review

Very unique & best quality specialty food delicacies & compliments in the middle of nowhere. Very busy with regular customers & new ones like myself, just passing by on the highway with my brother that knew about it already.

Glynn J — Google review

Delightful products with an active beehive and shop dog. That was the only thing that felt welcoming here. From the moment we went inside we felt like an inconvenience and a bother.I asked politely if I could fill up my water bottle after making my purchase and was told yes. After getting my bottle from my bike I came back in to be told to take the bottles outside; no outside containers allowed.

Brad R — Google review

Very good place to have a break, lots of delicious home made sandwiches, jam, honey and more... Highly recommend.

KALINKA'S G — Google review

I’ve stopped here many times and always try to stock up on their cinnamon honey and the lemon honey! Their honey infused pizza sauce is also amazing.

Waterfalls

Takakkaw Falls is a majestic waterfall located in Yoho National Park, offering dramatic vistas and standing at an impressive height of 373m, with a main drop of 254m. Access to the falls is free with a Discovery Parks Pass for entry into Yoho National Park. The access road is closed during winter from mid-October to mid-June.

Wow! This fall has POWER! couldn’t get anywhere near the base of the fall due to the intense winds it generates, but easily one of the best falls I visited on the west coast.Make sure you have a confident driver navigating, as there are many hairpin turns leading up to the parking lot.

Sarah F — Google review

Wow, I've hiked many waterfalls throughout the U.S. and Canada, but this one was definitely memorable. Go early because parking can be harder when everyone comes later. There are so many great spots for pictures, and unlike most waterfalls, you don't have this crazy hike up or down. Don't forget to hike down by the campground there's lots more to see. Definitely recommend this waterfall.

Andrea S — Google review

Very beautiful! The drive up there is filled with wonderful views. There’s lots of tables and benches, great for picnics and various group activities. The pathway is wide and open, parking isn’t too far, my grandparents were able to walk from the car to the falls and they’ve got bad hips and all that. There were outhouses for convenience, not too clean but no outhouse is clean. This is definitely a great site seeing spot!

Danica ( — Google review

Loved it! The falls were beautiful- yes it’s misty up-close. The trail is one of the easiest we taken. There are several spots to take a break. There are plenty picnic tables, restrooms, benches, and get your pictures at the Red Chairs. The drive there was gorgeous and we saw 2 elk in the meadow on our way.

Such a great spot for the easy hike. By the river there are some picnic areas with tables and bunches. But be sure that you have space at the parking lot. Because even on the weekdays it’s so busy.Huge and powerful waterfall will make you happy because the views are gorgeous! And now hushhhh! Just come and enjoy it!

Eye catching falls from far. Water fall from extreme heights and creates a cloud of big mist. Small trail to reach the base of falls. You can climb on rocks for nearest point of falls. Nice place for stunning photos

Chirag D — Google review

Great drive into the forest. Walkable distance from parking. Parking is limited. Stunning view of the Canada’s second longest water falls. Great place to feel the nature. There are many other small attractions on the way.

Surya N — Google review

This is an awesome waterfall in the Yoho National Park. Super easy walk (less than one mile out and back) that is paved and mostly flat. There are even some a pair of Canada Park’s famous red chairs along the way. Parking can be limited but if you’re patient you can find a spot. A MUST do!!

Colleen K — Google review

Sure, here's a revised version of your review for posting on maps:---Believe it or not, this place is worth visiting no matter the effort. The views are as stunning as the photos, but the experience becomes truly breathtaking once you feel the mist on your face. Try getting up close; it’s incredible.Usually, views like this require a good hike, but not here. What’s amazing about this spot is the campsite—I'd recommend any of the sites (2 or 3). They are fantastic, and you can see the waterfall right there. Well I do saw some Cub

Beautiful falls, it’s a very short walk from parking so family friendly. Visited July 2024 1st week, warm weather. You can feel the peace, mist and cool breeze ..Good place to cover in Yoho National ParkIt’s covered under Banff Park Pass

Takakkaw Falls is nothing short of spectacular. Nestled in Yoho National Park, this breathtaking waterfall cascades with such force and grace that it feels like nature's masterpiece. Standing at an impressive 373 meters, the sheer height of the falls is awe-inspiring, and the roaring sound of the water adds to the dramatic experience. The surrounding scenery, with its lush green landscape and rugged mountain backdrop, creates a stunning contrast that enhances the natural beauty of the falls. The well-maintained viewing area makes it easy to appreciate the falls up close, and the short walk to the viewpoint is an enjoyable journey through the serene wilderness. Takakkaw Falls is a highlight of the Canadian Rockies and an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the area. It’s a powerful reminder of nature’s grandeur and an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.

Amandeep C — Google review

Stunning. Easy walk up, not too busy. Lots of areas to view and take photos. Very misty at the top near the falls so you get a refreshing cool off on a hot day. Parking lot was busy but one drive around and we were able to park close to the trail.

Jaclyn B — Google review

Beautiful waterfall with an easy trail from the parking lot to the fall which takes around 10 minutes. A must visit on your way to Jasper. 10/10. Washrooms are available at the beginning of the trails and picnic tables with the view of the fall.

Sepehr N — Google review

Visiting Takakkaw Falls was an unforgettable experience. The sheer beauty and power of the cascading water left me in awe. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of rushing water, it felt like stepping into a natural paradise. The view from the lookout point was breathtaking, and the hike to reach it was well worth the effort. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful retreat, Takakkaw Falls is a must-see. It’s a stunning reminder of nature’s grandeur and a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection.

Pratik R — Google review

This is a beautiful waterfall fed from glaciers above at the top of the mountain. There is a short, relatively flat hike along a small river to the base of the falls from the parking area. We arrived around 11:00 on a Tuesday in June and found a parking spot.To get an even better view of the falls hike the Iceline trail where you can see it from a different vantage point at the turn of every switchback and then walking along the ridge of the high line on the mountain ridge adjacent to Takakkaw Falls. I didn’t do that hike on this visit but did the last time and it’s totally worth it and a great day hike!

Rachael T — Google review

Very beautiful, not to be missed when you’re in Banff/yoho. Easy drive with the exception of a zigzag portion. It is also a short hike from the parking lot. I suggest to come in early if you’re visiting during summer and to check the route if it’s open.

Osantiago9 — Google review

This is a beautiful falls in Yoho national park. Its the second tallest falls in Canada. As you get closer to the falls, you get sprayed by the water which feels nice. The hike is stroller friendly unless you want to get right under the falls, which can be slippery due to rocks. Overall, this is a nice place to visit.

Bodies of Water

Bow Lake, located within Banff National Park, is a picturesque spot formed by the runoff of the Bow Glacier. The area offers various activities such as hiking and enjoying a meal at the historic Lodge at Bow Lake. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the lakeshore, particularly towards Bow Glacier Falls, which provides stunning views across the turquoise water.

Spectacular view. Ice cold water even in summer. Refreshing.Easily accessible, on the highway. Free parking.

This is a beautiful turquoise-blue glacial lake. You can walk around the lake and hike to the Bow Glacier Falls. This is a popular lake so it is best to get there earlier.

NERO S — Google review

Bow Lake, the most picturesque lake in Banff National Park, is located along Icefield Parkway at an altitude of 1920 m. It is surrounded by majestic mountains and is fed by crystal clear water from melted glaciers. It is beautiful at any time of the year. In summer, the shores of the lake are painted with alpine flowers. In autumn, it is decorated with golden-red foliage of bushes. A soft blanket of snow covers the shores in winter. And spring awakens life and brings new freshness.

Yuliya B — Google review

Bow Lake is possibly our favourite lake en route to Banff and Lake Louise. In our opinion, it is just as beautiful as Lake Louise, if not more so. There are no crowds, no waiting, no parking fees, no shuttles, and no hassle. There is a large space to pull over right next to the water and we always enjoy getting out and spending some time near the lake, even jumping in the water and enjoying the view. The colour of the water is stunning and the backdrop is incredible, even if it was a little smokey at the time we were there due to the Jasper Park Wildfire. We love this stop on the beautiful drive through the Rockies!

Tianna — Google review

We had the privilege of visiting Bow Lake during our trip to Banff, and it left an impression on me. This pristine alpine lake is nothing short of breathtaking and quickly became one of my favorite stops in the Canadian Rockies. The turquoise waters of Bow Lake are nestled amidst the towering peaks of the Rockies, and the sight is simply awe-inspiring. The clarity of the water and the reflection of the surrounding mountains create a picture-perfect scene that's ideal for photography enthusiasts. One of the highlights of my visit was the easy access to the shoreline, allowing me to soak in the serenity of the area. I took a leisurely walk along the lake's edge, and the tranquility was almost surreal. It's a place where you can truly connect with nature. For those looking to get even closer to the lake, there's a lovely bridge that provides a captivating view of Bow Lake. The emerald hue of the water, and the rugged mountain backdrop combine to make this spot a photographer's dream. In conclusion, Bow Lake in Banff is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and anyone seeking the true essence of the Canadian Rockies. Its beauty is unparalleled, and the experience is unforgettable. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I'll cherish the memories of my visit for years to come.

One of my favourite places to visit not just in Banff and the Rockies, but overall from all the locations I've visited. It's a great place for the family and solo as it's a bit quieter than the more popular locations. Not to mention the drive is world-class.

"In my opinion, this lake is the crown jewel of them all! Its crystal-clear waters invite you to kayak and explore, while the surrounding area offers perfect spots for a BBQ. Our journey to Columbia Icefield took an unexpected turn when we stumbled upon the breathtaking Bow Lake. Surrounded by stunning scenery and blissful tranquility, we found ourselves in a winter wonderland in the middle of June! Being from a warm region, my son had his first magical encounter with snow. The scenic path around the lake provided a safe and easy stroll, allowing us to capture unforgettable memories on camera. If you're en route to Jasper or Columbia Icefield, a stop at Bow Lake is an absolute must! 👍

Beautiful lake and an amazing hike to a waterfall. Small parking that spills over to the street leading up to the lodge. Bathrooms are decent park bathrooms.

This view point is just before the restroom area. On the left hand side heading to Ice Fields. We pulled in to take a few pictures as the lake looked beautiful. It was not busy and you can walk down to the shoreline. The footing is in even and rocky but if you are careful you can make it down. What a View!!
