Testimonials
Paul Dal Santo
Technology STEM teacher, Stone Harbor Elementary School
“I am very happy with CodeMonkey and more importantly, so are my students. I used it last marking period in my third grade class. All of the students made progress. Some got real far into the higher levels. I would rate CodeMonkey a 5 out of 5. I liked the curriculum guide.”
Kelsey Parrasch
4th Grade Teacher, Eleanor Van Gelder School
“CodeMonkey has been an amazing addition to my classroom throughout the last year. My students developed tons of confidence in coding thanks to CodeMonkey's engaging game-like platform. As a teacher, I love that it's so easy to offer my students support throughout the levels. Learning to code with CoffeeScript gives them knowledge of coding language and helps to set them up for success in the future. I can't imagine my classroom without CodeMonkey!”
Ryan Hewer
Social Studies and Game Programming Teacher, Massena Central School District
“CodeMonkey has been absolutely terrific for my students. The majority have completed all 200 lessons and several have gone on to develop their first platformer and frogger games. CodeMonkey has helped me identify three students with a particular aptitude for game development, opening the door for further work with several programming languages. Your software has been a game-changer in our school and I would rate my satisfaction as 5 out of 5 stars.”

Frequently asked questions
You can find all the information for each of CodeMonkey's courses here.
CodeMonkey offers courses starting from Pre-school up to the 8th grade. You can view the coding pathway in our Courses page.
Where to begin varies on your students’ grade level and coding experience.
* Pre-school – 2nd Grade: If students have no previous coding experience and are just learning how to read and write in English, we recommend starting with CodeMonkey Jr. or Beaver Achiever.
* 3rd-5th Grade: If students have no previous coding experience and are fluent in both reading and writing in English, we recommend starting with Coding Adventure and continuing to Dodo Does Math and Game Builder.
* 6th-8th Grade: If students have previous coding experience, we recommend getting started with Banana Tales and then proceeding to Coding Chatbots. These are more advanced courses that teach Python. If your students do not have previous coding experience, we recommend starting with Coding Adventure.
No, CodeMonkey is completely web based and does not require you to install anything.
Each CodeMonkey account is individual and non transferable, meaning that once you assign an account to a student, you can't delete that account, change the username or assign it to a different student. For example- a classroom subscription comes with 30 individual student accounts - once you assigned 30 students to those accounts, they are theirs. If you want to use CodeMonkey with more than one classroom, you'll need to purchase multiple subscriptions or based on the number of student accounts you need.
